ok so after looking a thte frame and all that stuff i was wondering if is possible to make a coupe to a fastback. the frame looks like it would be able to just make once you buy the different parts such as the new quarter panels and windsheil and roof and new truck. does this sounds like it can be done?

while you can change a coupe to a fastback, the amount of work, and the investment of parts needed will far exceed the value of the resulting car. it would be far less expensive, to make a convertible out of a coupe.

Certainly it is possible... All you need to do is remove the coupe body and interior, and replace it with a fastback body and interior. Of course, since this will require replacing about 75% of the original vehicle, you'd better plan on bringing TONS OF MONEY, and a very skilled crew of mechanics and auto body specialists.

This has been done but there is too much metal work to list You would spend less time rebuilding a fastback in poor shape than to make one.Convertibles are the same way! More than removing the roof is involved I used to be a restoration mechanic for Mustangs and have seen it all.I wouldn't even attempt it.Find a 6 cyl car would be a start.

A better option for that swap wouold be a 67 or 68, you can buy ALL of the sheetmetal needed for the change NEW. Either way, this is a VERY extensive job, you better find a really good body man and have a huge pile of money waiting.

The roof is cut off behind the windshield frame, and the tops of the quarters are cut off (or the entire quarter can be changed), everything in between is changed out in the process. New door glass and rear seats are needed also.

Yes, it is possible, but does include a lot of work. I don't believe that you would need to get an entirely new roof, but you will need some of it ( maybe start halfway back or so?) but you would need to replace a lot of stuff to get this accomplished. I would not recommend turning this into a convertible, but I am not big on convertibles.
Best of Luck
