What's wrong with my Mustang?

Now I know no one can give me difinative reason over the interent, and I have an appointment at a auto repair shot on monday, but a general idea would be nice

A co worker was driving my old 71 mustang (not restored) to my house and suddenly it stopped working and their was large amounts of oil all over the road! It count run and I had it towed to my house,

Any ideas on what it might be, or what it defenatly count NOT be. A lot of places overcharge because of the year and type of car. I don't plan on making it a show car, I just like driving it to work and back. It was my dad's 1st car!

I know the Gas tank needs a new seal, and the air conditioning needs work (The care overheats when the air is on), but never had a problem like this!!

Any insight?

YOUR ENGINE IS DONE !!! THE WAY U DESCRIBE U BLEW THE PISTON OR BEND THE VALVES OR, IF LUCKY BLEW THE OIL PUMP...
EITHER WAY THE ENGINE HAS TO COME OUT AND BE TAKEN APART... OR REPLACED...

It's quite possible that your co-worker was having a little too much fun with your pony and blew the engine, but I wasn't there, so you'll have to count on his version of the story. As a general rule, engines that have been performing for the past 38 years don't just happen to explode while someone else is behind the wheel.

sounds like the oil pan is loose, or the gasket is shot...

can't be anything else if your leaking large amounts of oil....
