2006 GTO or 2007 Mustang?

just got back from Iraq and want to buy myself a gift before i do a second tour. i plan on using this car for a daily and both cars are 18k with basically the same amount of miles. im just having a hard time choosing, they both have pros and cons. i like the gto cause there ain't that many of them and i like the interior and how you can use the backseat, but on the other hand they don't represent the classic gto any and don't have many aftermarket parts. the mustang is easily hooked up with bodykits and bolt on parts, but they are everywhere and most the time look identical to the next guys. trying to get some opinions im having a hard time picking between the two.

The GTO hands down. It looks better (in my opinion), its faster, its more unique. Don't look down at the GTO because it isn't a 'retro' car, look at it for what it is. As far as the daily driver part if its a 6 speed you will be looking at 18mpg city and about 26 highway, if auto 17 and 20 respectively. Any other questions (or if you want to see what is possible with the GTO) check out www.ls1gto.com You will find all the answers about the GTO you may have ever wanted.

go gto!! the gto stock would blow the doors off the stang, plus like you said theres not that many of them, and mustangs all look the same. the gto's have quite a few aftermarket parts, as far as perf. but theyre already quick, and they have kits for the gto's but theyre real expensive and hard to find, but id say go with the gto because theyre few and far between, where as mustangs are far from few between lol

I would prefer the gto because just like you said no one has it so you will be unique! also is got the 6.0L V-8 16 valve OHV SMPI, 400hp 400pft@ 5200RPM, 4-spd automatic w/overdrive engine and gives a 0-60 time in only 4.7 sec and quarter mile in 13.3 secs in change the mustang is 5.3(slow) and 14.0. Also the miles per gallon is impressive for such a big v8 is 17/25. The looks of that car! If i were you i would buy it with my eyes closed.

MUSTANG by all means, it's been here since 1964 1/2. GTO can not say that. Maybe there won't even be a GTO by the time you get back, of a GM. Talk is underway for Chrysler and General Motors combining to stay in business. Another Government bail out. Mustang 44 years and still going strong, no skips or lost production or promises of reintroduction. remember COBRAS RULE!
