How do i learn to fix up my car?

I have a fairly nice car. '93 Foxbody 5.0 Mustang. Exterior looks nice and interior is good but the engine parts are getting older. ill be honest, it runs great. No engine problems but with it being almost 17 years old, i know i need to replace parts. now heres my problem: i have absolutely no experience with engines. i know basic stuff but not how to fix things. I also want to make everything look really nice under the hood. my question is how can i learn how to do this? i really want to learn because i have a major interest in cars but have no experience with engines.

Swap out skills. I knew nothing about cars, but can cook and sew like crasy. Found a good mechanic. He taught me how to maintain my car, and I made him dinner, packed a lunch, and sewed up repairs on his clothes.
Also, go to car shows. You can get some great contacts and info.
