66 mustang overheating question?

I got a 66 mustang with a 347 stroker its got anywhere from 400 to 500 hp. I just replaced the old copper/brass radiator with an updated radiator. The new one I got is all aluminum and its a 3 row core, made by champion cooling. I bought it off ebay below http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/All-Aluminum-3-ROW-65-66-MUSTANG-Radiator-CC259_W0QQitemZ350126250443QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item350126250443&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A64|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1309

My question is what size electric fan do I need? Like what cfm would be required to cool my engine? Thanks in advance.

Your new radiator is a free flow design and it won't take much too keep it cool.[airflow] Check out the site above. I prefer the dual systems, I lost a fan once and for a long time didn't know one was out!
GOOD LUCK!!

"BRILLIANT"!!!!

66 mustang overheating question?

go with 2800cfm dual fan set up... By the way... 66 mustangs are sick!!! I'm waiting for the day I can get my hands on a 68 gt500kr Shelby mustang. It's my dream car.

But 2800 dual should work fine

I don't believe that radiator is big enough for two fans, so i would get the biggest fan that will fit on your radiator.

I would put on the largest one that would physically fit on the radiator.

Im using a 16" electric pushing at least 2000 cfms...... you could go with a single 14" or dual 8" or something like that, but get at least 2000 cfm's

Take a look at Flexolite fans web site. They have all the information listed there to answer your questions.
