Aftermarket parts?

i got a 65 ford mustang coupe, needs a gas tank and a strut rod.
possibly a new steering wheel, rack n pinion box,
im keeping everything stock cuz modded cars are worthless (as in not worth as much money)
i want to avoid mail ordering from used parts places and other suspicious stuff like that,
ebay, all that.
and i live in Anchorage Alaska.
shipping is my worst enemy here.
somebody help me out, i need some parts.

Aftermarket parts?

Rack and pinion steering didn't show up until the Mustang II in 1974. But it DOES have a strut rod from the lower A-arm to the frame.

Clearly you have internet capabilites, every heard of a database search engine called Google? It's pretty new, but it works fantastic!!

Aftermarket parts?

This website will take you places that will sell you anything; new old stock, used, aftermarket new, mods, custom, etc. -- whatever you want.
http://links.vintage-mustang.com/
They can take you to places like:
http://www.restoremustangs.com/
http://www.cal-mustang.com/
http://www.allclassicmustang.com/
http://www.karmustang.com/
http://www.wildwestmustang.com/

You should learn about your mustang a little more if you are keeping everything stock -- it doesn't have rack n pinion steering nor struts.

Aftermarket parts?

Ebay is a great place to get parts, I buy there all the time. Most companies sell on ebay to include Summit and Jegs. There are tons of companies selling stang parts, just google search it. Mustangs are cheap to restore compared to most other cars like GTOs and Corvettes. No answer for shipping to Alaska beyond move... Below are a couple links. All the sites will send you free catalogs.

Flaming River, makes a lot of "upgrade" parts that bolt right in for older stangs. They've been around for quite a while so that shows they don't make a junk product and the customer service must be decent. Honestly your best bet is to pick up a subscription to Mustang Monthly. They have a lot of advertisers, and you might be able to find the exact parts that you are looking for.
