Question on an engine swap of a 2000 Mustang?

Alright so I am looking for a fun project for the spring. I already have a Mustang daily driver and a show quality one but thats besides the point. I am looking into buying a Mustang, possibly a roller, and dropping an 03/04 Cobra motor into it. The question is can I do a direct swap with a V6 of that gen.? Or would it be easier to swap with a GT?

The swap would include every part of motor and tranny, and all needed electrical wiring for the engine to function.

I would like some input/advice. I'm hoping someone with more knowledge than I can tell me I can use a V6 because I could find one a lot cheaper and sell that motor and tranny.

No haters please.

Different struts for the added weight, different brakes for the added power and weight, different motor mounts and may have to be relocated, are just a few things tghat pop to mind.

Not hating on the car.

Hating on the project.

You're going to spend more money on the swap, than just buying a Cobra in the first place.

What would the point be? Just to say you did it?

Not worth your money. If you were to put the supercharged 4.6L from the 03-04 cobra into a v6 body, you would have some issues. First, the v6 tranny would not be able to handle the increase in power from 195HP to ~390HP. So, a trans upgrade is a must. Also, you would have to weld in the new motor mounts because the v6 ones arent in the same places. You would have to swap out the entire rear to handle the extra power as well. The entire exhaust would have to be done. Also, upgraded suspension to handle the extra weight from all those new parts. Plus the fact that the v6 frame probably wont be able to handle the double in power.

Save yourself tons of money and A LOT of time and just buy a cobra
