if you want a Mustang get a V6 you'll save thousands of dollars in insurance premiums.

the V6 has enough power that you get some speed but hopefully you won't want to drag race away from every street light

If I was you I get an Acura Integra or RSX much less of a cop magnet and handles better in the turns

You really don't want anything too fancy for your first car. I had a brand new Chevy Silverado when I turned 16.. I had someone back into me & I hit a deer within the first 8 months of having it. I ended up saving the money I got from the insurance & waited until I graduated high school to get my new car (Chevy Tahoe). If you want a mustang, maybe get the 00-03 model (or eclipse?). It is well worth it in the long run. That way if some idiot hits your car in the school parking lot you won't be as irate as you would if you had the '05. Plus it will be a good try out.. maybe a few years down the road you decide you want a nice truck instead of the car. Trust me it will be well worth the wait!!!!

Americans are so lucky, in the UK if you get a car with an engine over 100hp or 1.8L displacement the insurance will up to 5000 unless you go on parents insurance.
