Failing that you can do a turbo, I'm not sure if anyone makes a kit for the car, so it might have to be a custom job. You'll also want a forged crank, forged rods, etc. to handle the boost. You may also need to get uprated CV joints to deal with the extra power and not break, same thing for the clutch. You'll also want a limited slip diff. The torque steer will be brutal no matter what you do. Skip the body kit, body kits don't make your car any faster (slower in most cases due to the extra weight). Go > Show. At the end of day you'll likely to have spent around $10k in functional mods. And you'll still have an Escort.
