I've had mine for a few weeks now and I'm rather disappointed with the quality of the top. I love the sound of the exhaust, but, sometimes I just want to cruise along with my foot not working the clutch to hear it and I've found that the standard GT roof is just a black tarp with little sound proofing. Is there such a thing available? I've run a few searches to little avail.

So put the top down!
There are no doubt cheap tops with out the sound proofing and more then likely there is a way to remove it from yours. You might want for the top assembly (bows and all) from a salvage yard and take the sound proofing out of that one and replace your stock top. But even doing this will not insure that you will hear the exhaust because there are a lot of other noises that go with rag tops at speed.
