Giving a 1997 mustang dual exhaust?

i just bought a 97 mustang.. its single exhaust. and i was planning on giving it dual exhaust and straight piping it, and putting cherry bomb exhaust tips..

how much is it gonna cost to make it dual exhaust? is it possible?
can i have my car sound intimidating without dual exhaust? how much do good sounding cherry bombs cost?

Giving a 1997 mustang dual exhaust?

There are plenty of dual exhaust kits available for V6 Mustangs, however, it will only sound "intimidating" if you find the sound of a farm tractor to be scary. The 3.8L does not have a particularly pleasing exhaust note, it sounds like an industrial engine when the exhaust is opened up. It'll sound like absolute s**t with straight pipes. I would go with something milder like a flowmaster DF 50 or Dynomax.

Edit: Once again we have a "pro mechanic" who is incorrect. As I stated above there are several dual exhaust setups availble, here are a few

if it's single exhaust then that means it's a V6 and while it is of course possible to put dual on it, there's no real point since it will not improve performance or make it sound any better since it's only a V6

It's illegal for a muffler shop to remove converters without replacing them. You will have to buy a cat back system with dual outlet muffler. True dual exhaust won't fit.
