The motor is from a 1984 f-150. It's a 350 small block V8, and the car had a 2.3 litre 4-cylinder. Is it possible without too much difficulty? Will the transmission/drive-train survive the boost in power?

this is possible i have actually done this before and its not the easiest thing to do first you have to decide if you want to run automatic or standard transmission then you have to locate the engine mounts and transmission mounts for that car make sure you have the correct ones so that it will bolt up pretty easily now a truck transmission is different from a mustang transmission the tailshaft will most likely be longer causing you to either have a custom driveshaft made or to actually find a mustang tranny. if you are pretty savvy with automotive repair or workning on cars this shouldnt be a really big chore just remember to take your time and think it through if you get aggravated stop and take a break. oh and by the way since the car was a 4 cylinder that means that the sway bars are gonna be smaller and the rear diff is gonna be a little weak when put up against the v8 from the truck when completed the car wont handle very well with that kind of power so you might want to upgrade the sway bars and suspension especially in the front of the car the shear weight of the v8 in the car will make the car appear to have been lowered when you set it all in there. have fun with the transplant

it is possible but the car must be manual not automatic transmission cuz that would mess the car up

You mean 351 not 350. 350 is a chevy.
