Overdrive

Just bought an 02, it's an automatic
But I was wondering when I should use the Overdrive? And why it's automatically on?

I believe all it did was lock out 5th gear. I do not know if it impacted the shift strategy or shift points like it does on the 2011+ autos.

Overdrive helps save gas, it is the highest gear. Autos will want to get to the highest gear as quickly as possible to save gas. Idk why anyone would want to turn it off cause if you want better acceleration just hit the pedal and it will automatically drop gears.
