Test drove a ghig 2013 gt today

So I'm looking at trading in my 2012 v6 that's I've done a bunch to for a 2013 ghig gt 6spd I test drove the gt and ya you can tell its faster and has more power but idk I guess I'm not overly impressed. Maybe it's cause my car has intake and exhaust and a Barton short shifter and is lowered but. I'm not sure it worth financing 34k.

Unless you got it above 4K, you didnt experience its true power. 4k-7k is pure joy.

Your car may feel almost as fast due to you having the mods and shifter and tune. But I guarantee if you throw comparable mods on the 5.0... No contest.

I will however, encourage you to buy a base model to save a few bucks unless you really enjoy the bells and whistles. Or even a slightly used 11-12 5.0

I did! Sure it's fast but I guess I built it up in my mind to be super fast. And for 700$ a month I can't regret my purchase

I really want all the bells like my v6 has. And I think I'm getting a good deal on a 2013 ghig gt premium for 31969$

That's not a bad deal but there are better deals to be had. Do you have to have a 13?

I would still say your money will be better spent on a 11-12 with ~10k miles

Well at least you know what you want... But can you afford a car note of $700 per month plus increased gas cost plus increased repair cost plus increased insurance cost Plus more expensive mods?

No that's my issue I can but I don't want TO PAY THAT. So I'm thinking maybe a base with sync

I don't know. I bought mine new because I had nothing to trade and figured what the hell, and I liked the appearance of the '13 just a little better. I'm paying $656 a month including insurance, plus around $400 a month in gas, but both of those costs include my beater car. I have a base GT with sync, brembos, recaros, and security, and with the exception of the recaros, I wouldn't miss the rest. I think when it comes down to it you'll think the power/bells and whistles trade-off is worth it to just go with the base model. Especially when you're alone in the car and not on a test drive.

This is all just opinion though, obviously you are free to do as you choose haha. Just trying to help.

Looks like you can get a used '10 GT500 for under $40k. Food for thought.
