I got my 06 gt at 16 and paid 18000 for it. 10000 was my money, 8000 was parents. I searched for a long time for a good deal when I finally found the right color and year for 15,500 with 26000 miles

I'm not really in high school any more, recently graduated, but my dad bought my mustang for a gas saver for him to go back and forth to work, when he brought her home I fell in love and told him he can't sell it. So he gave her to me about 3-4 years before I could drive lol

I was all set on getting a mustang and my dad had his dealers look for trade in and boom.. one day there was a black 2011 and I had only been looking at 05-09s but he wanted this cause it'd be "safer" and it had some power cause we both knew I wouldn't slow down for something, I'd go around it but well it's a past story now seeing it was sold :'(

I was more or less in school when I bought my 88 GT... Stay in school, kids. Going back as an adult... well...

Anyway...

I traded my actual first car, a Chevrolet Cavalier, for it with about a grand in cash. I got the better deal, by far. It should also be noted that the Cavalier I paid for myself with a little help from the parental unit - 25% of the cost was covered.

So, yeah I had Fox bodied Mustang in highschool but don't confuse yourself; as bada$$ as it was, as monstered as it had been, this was no showroom fresh 5.0 when I bought it.

---------- Post added at 05:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ----------

I was also delivering pizzas in it and using it to get to work and back from another job.

Parents bought me a 1968 coupe with a 289 on my sixteenth. It was $4800 and in decent shape. Stopped running a week later. It has been a project car for my dad and I. My dad asked "are you sure you want a car that will always need work?" Heck yea!

These are some pretty awesome stories!

I'm currently a freshman in college, but I got a 98 GT when I turned 16.(By some miracle. Lol) Grandparents paid 3500 for it. I got in a small wreck in it, insurance company totaled it, we got it back, grandparents got their 3500 back out of the deal, me and my pops fixed it back with a reconstructed title. I ended up selling it for 5300. Crazy right?? Anyways. I put that with some money I had saved up and my good friend happened to be selling his 01 Cobra because he needed the cash and lets just say I was in the right place at the right time. It's been mine since last summer.

Have always wanted one since I was 5 and saved up for it year after and got a job once I was 16 and sold my racing dirt bike to get some extra and came across a great deal on a 2003 mustang gt deluxe for $6000 with only 74k all stock but went to go buy it and my grandparents ended up paying for everything so all I do is pay for mods and gas so lucky to have great grandparents. Also had to have good grades and stay out of trouble.

I'm also not in high school, but a freshmen in college. My parents, me, and my grandparents each paid $500 to get my 95' GT which was owned by an older lady that was friends with my grandmother and sold it to us for $1500. I've put gas, mods, work, everything into this car since we bought it when I was 14. Parents pay insurance since its only $5 extra for them being an older car. I've put something like 3k into the car so far and I'm pretty sure ill probably put much more in it as long as I drive it. I don't have any pics before mods, but Lets just say it was rough. I have a slight idea of the mileage on the car but its hard to tell since the odo stopped at 173k in 2006.

I'm a freshman in college but close enough lol. When I was I my senior year, people were constantly getting brand new mustangs and BMWs at my old school. People respected mine though because I put hard work and effort in mine while thy had their daddy buy it for them. I live in an affluent area so all my friends, girlfriend and kids at school wee getting brand new audis, BMWs and mustangs/camaros. While my friend and I were the only people who took pride in our cars. We worked on them a lot. Half the people at my school didn't know how to inflate a tire lol

I'm a little older but got my first stang, 99 v6, when I was 17. I paid for it myself working construction on the weekends and full time in the summer. Had a Lil help by selling my 89 camaro Rs for 1000 which is double what I paid for it. Bought all my cars and motorcycle myself... And paid for nursing school at the same time....

I also am recemtly out of highschool. I got my car when I was 16 junior in highschool. At first my parents leaned over to buying a damn honda (depressing right?) But eventually gave in to my mustang given that I put in 3, 000 of it with money well earned during summers. It came out to $3, 800 for my 02' v6. I pay everything thatbhadls to do with it.

I like how a majority of you all saved and used some of your own money for the car. Makes it the car worth that much more! Can't wait till my son is old enough to drive.

payin for it myself. my rents gave me a ride to work for a few months + getting rides from friends. saved up my down payment financed the rest. they let me use their credit (thank god) and I pay my insurance and car payment. (roughly 600/month) my insurance is really high because being a highschool male at the wheel of a 305hp monster in the insurance fraud Capitol of the country. thankfully no tickets or accidents

I'll go ahead and share my story!!

I own my two businesses, both a registered LLC under my name.

My lawn care business, and my video editing/other computer stuff business.

Saved up when I was 13 till I was 15 and bought my jeep with no help. Then after I could drive that was when I registered my lawn care business and got a buddy to be my partner, and for almost three years worked almost 7 days a week in one way or another. Not as much in winter time but did odd jobs here and there often for alot of my customers.

Saved up almost $18,000 for the purpose of purchasing my first brand new car, I was going to finance when I turned 18. But over the summer my great grand parents passed away and left me $15,000 and along with there other two great grand kids although they are alot younger than I.

I put the money with my money and set my limit to 30k.

My college is set I have several scholarships so I don't Have to worry about that.

But I wanted something that gets good gas mileage, is sporty, and must be rear wheel drive. And MUST NOT BE A 4 cylinder.

I drove everything!!! And eventually settled on the mustang! The listed price on it was 33,000k.

My grandma went with me that day just in case, too help me out with the paperwork.

And I told the guy what's the best you can do for me, he said we have incentives blah blah blah.

I Told him I wanted it 500$ above invoice. His eyes went wide prolly thinking I'm a teenager that he could rip me off.

He went and spoke with his manager they both came Back talked with me, they told me they couldn't do it, so I thanked them and went to get up and they said what do we have to do?

I said 500$ above invoice and all terrain floor Mats.

I walked away with my beautiful stang for 27,000 almost even!

Oh! And I got free window tint out of them!

Total cost with new plate and and everything ended up being a round 28,000.

I have a 2012 mustang v6 premium with leather seats with the pony package, SYNC, my color, and rear park sensors!

And I love it with all my heart!!!! And is till have almost 10k left in the bank! Iv saved up even more since I have bought it.

It has been really hard to resist the temptation to mod It....but I am gonna wait to super charge it (or turbo) not sure yet, when the warranty is up!

I want to make a sleeper out of it one day! I wanna be able to beat the new GT's consistently!
