I was going in reference so a literal terminology sports car. Muscle car is a term people made up and stuck around. No insurance says muscle car, no registration says muscle car.

Mustangs are not a sports cars. That is what I have been told by many on this form. They are a pony, muscle car which is different than a sports car

So are you saying its not a sports car because you have a v6?
I think my sticker sheet is all the proof I need!!

It's another conversation like the one about v6, gt, roush, and gt500. It is whatever you want. If a manual makes you happy, have at it. If its not a sports car to you unless you can shift it, by all means, get a stick. Instead of arguin about it. Line them up.

Some things I noticed through the bickering lol:

Auto gets better fuel economy than standard. False, unless your brain doesn't understand how to use top gear, then manual is always more efficient. When I drove the auto, it wouldn't dip under a certain rpm. Auto wont use 6th until Higher mph, with manual, put it in at 30 plus, even lower.

StAndard transmission is standard. The basic. The base. Automatic is an option. That is why auto costs more.

Standard transmissions weigh a little less.

Now from facts to opinion.

The only people I know with autos in there mustangs are women and hair dressers. Same with camaros, and challengers. The people who bought them to DRIVE keep the standard. The people who bought them to get from one hair appointment to the next just got an auto and whatever car looked cute.

Sure, there are lots of good reasons for an auto, and I do not mean any disrespect to auto havers, but I do not know anyone in person who does not fit this.

I know most of the people here aren't. I know zero people in real life that have an auto mustang and do not match the description. I am NOT referring to anyone here, nor do I mean it for offense to auto owners.

traded in a 03 mach one with a auto and the !st thing I told the dealer it must be a 5.0 with a manual shifter. It puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it and alot of it has to do with the manual.

I don't know any of you lol

You might be women, lumberjacks, hair dressers, I don't know. I am talking about my personal experience. i don't know anyone here in real life.

And agree with the standard bringing a car to life. The hyundai I learned to drive standard on felt lively and spirited with the five speed in it.

No fake. Really, even if you want a Mustang because it looks cool, or has stripes, or whatever reason one gets it, it doesn't matter why...just gotta get what you like.

If we wouldn't, we'd be driving a Camry.

Lol, you guys make fun, but everyone I know in a standard (even in the hyundai) is more manly the the foreigners I see in camaros, the women I see in mustangs and camaros, and the round middle aged men in challengers.

Now if we talk about vehicle level, that changes, too. The few GT500 owners I have seen, and GT owners I have seen are all standard, haven't seen any autos (no auto GT500).

I can keep going with everyone I have met in a sports cars, but the people who got the car to go from one place to another and don't care about driving get an auto. The people who want to DRIVE and feel their car get a standard.
