I'm a huge fan of the auto but now that I drive a manual I'm freaking loving it.

Manual

Manual. This seems like a pretty unanimous poll.

My analogy still stands. Using a calculator for advanced math is like driving an auto. Doing it on paper is the manual. Everyone can do it with a calculator but few can do it without one.
Oh, there is little to no skill involved when it comes to an automatic. The transmission does all the work for ya and for me, that's all I'm looking for. Punch it down and let that pony scream down the road. The automatics are just typically more consistent in there times and acceleration because it shifts perfect every time. There is no human error.

I know which is exactly why I say they are skillless to drive. If that is what you want that is OK. Just don't wanna hear you bragging about how great your drag times are against a manual as if you and me were both given dead stock identical 2013 5.0 with manuals I'd tear you apart down the track any day. .

I think a 12 year old girl could beat me in a manual Ford Festiva because I haven't driven a manual car since I was 18 and that was a long time ago. I $ucked at manual then and nothing has changed and I won't brag about how great my track times are because I don't track race. Lol.

This is one of the best reasons to get manual trans. Everyone wants to drive theses cars, but- "Sorry dude, its stick...." .

Manual for me, and I had to search for one when I was ready to buy. I like to 'drive' my car, not just ride in it

Auto is definitely better for drag after being tuned, but for TRACK, I could never use it on a real course.

I'm running a 91 Hybrid tune and what a huge difference it made for my automatic. Huge difference.

If we compared, on a drag strip, stock for stock standard vs auto, I think I would prefer standard. Tuned, though, would be interesting. I just don't know how the auto with stock ECU works, I never did WOT and really pushed it during test drives.

It works great. The tune transforms the automatic into a different beast. Totally different. The shift points, throttle response and pulls harder, makes the car run smoother.

12.538 1/4 93r tune on street tires (PSS), 1/2 tank of gas, fat driver, and 100 degree ambient and 80+ % humidity at Baytown, tx.

My understanding is you would need a torque convertor to beat the manual.

This is like debating, what is the nicest color? It all depends on what someone wants in there vehicle. For me, I just want to stomp on the go pedal and feel that pony pull me and hear the engine semi roar in a v6 way. Lol.

I was debating that... He implied that he needed something to compare.

Just putting real data out there instead of just talk. And I'm on stock suspension.

Yea, i see guys at the local track lie about their times like crazy and when they hit the track they get wayy lower times lol, it is always the tires, clutch, temp or the tunes fault.
I also lie but in the other direction, when they ask me how much i run i say 13.5 or something like that
