Underpowered by today's standards, but they are 10+ years old.

Try to find a leftover 2012 3.7 V6

With $10,000 and your car you should be close enough to get a 2012 base 3.7 V6 brand new. You will not be disappointed with the miles per gallon or the performance.

I say avoid v6's unless its 2011 and up.....

If its 2010 and down, GT all the way.

The new v6's are killer engines.

And will out perform pretty much and stock 2010 and below GT.

And if you keep a light foot you won't get horrible mileage in the older GT's.

I know you will be happier in the long run with the GT. most people are.

I have a 99, if I could right now Id get a newer mustang v6 but only 2011 and up.. They have more power and look better than the New edges IMO.. But the s197 v6 are cool too.. Customizing those body styles and doing appearance stuff would be all you need to stand out
