Send a PM to runofthisbull, he ended up doing a V6 to V8 swap. The big issued is it usually ends up costing more than selling your car and buying a GT.

+1, that's why I'm just going to do an auto to manual swap for one, second I'm just going to keep adding power to my V6, it'll get better MPG for a DD and still be able to have fun in it.

It really depends on the springs. The stock stuff is damn near interchangeable..just like the OEM brakes. Only difference from the v6 and GT is the rear sway bar and quad shocks (coupe). Some aftermarket springs hold rates for both v6 and v8 coupes, while others may be more specific to the model, engine, coupe or vert etc.

He is one of the best resources regarding a swap...but keep in mind he did this over a couple years iirc...and by that I mean he gathered everything he needed over 2 years then did the swap. I talked to him about it and he wasn't concerned with the cost and wanted to keep the car he had, so it was the best option.

If you can get a great deal on a donor car, which is basically what you need to do it right, then the swap won't be over the top. But piecing it together can get time consuming and expensive. A lot of guys get half way there and lose interest and end up selling what they have acquired at a loss.

So do take a step back and think before you start writing checks...in reality GT's aren't that much more to insure and gas mpg's aren't horribly less than a v6. Provided you have a decent record and you don't redline at every stop light

But that takes away ALL the fun.
