Ehhh...Not in my mind. It's more of a dragster with a Mustang shell on top of it. It's not really a mustang IMO.

Runs a 5.0 ford engine? Runs a upgraded drivetrain/suspension just like they do to gt500 and super snakes? Uses same body as the mustangs on its year?..
Its just a highly upgraded mustang by ford for drag enthusiast, just like they upgrade the gt to a gt500 and a gt500 to a super snake this is technically a highy upgraded super snake. And you could throw normal wheels/tires and drive it on the street. I can understand what your saying tho, but imo its a stock ( highly upgraded ) mustang thats can be sold to the public like any other mustang

Im not arguing btw lol just throwing out my opinion

Which is why I put IMO in my statement, to avoid an argument, but yeah, if I can't walk up to a dealership and buy it, it's not a "true" mustang imo (with maybe an exception for the super snake)

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Super snake GT 500 is not made by ford from the factory , so it is not a stock setup.

In that particular discussion of those 3 posts, we were discussing what classifies something as a mustang, not stock. But yes, a Super Snake is not stock. That's fact, not opinion.

Depends on the trim. When I met the Shelby guys, they said the first trim is all cosmetic. I don't know if they really meant all cosmetic, or cosmetic AND suspension- but there is no power increase. I believe it is 20k ish, but this was back in January. I believe the 850 package before wide body or extras is 40k. And the wide rear can be had on any Shelby, too. In my opinion, it looks ridiculous. I respect the real world application when it matters, but its like hood pins or scoops to me- looks ridiculous unless used.

You buy it as a stock super snake, thats why your buying it as a super snake, so to me its a " stock " super snake when you purchase that vehicle because any aftermarket unstock parts will void the warranty of the stock super snake parts? Correct me if im wrong

Don't you buy the Gt500 from Ford through Shelby and then they put the Super Snake package on it? Shelby doesn't build the Mustang. Ford does then Shelby puts their after market parts on it. Or at least that's what I thought.

Still wouldnt if you put aftermarket parts on after you purchase it wouldnt void the warranty of the super snake cause what they put on the super snake is technically stock to the vehicle?

Technically it's not Stock but after market parts with a warranty from Shelby not Ford. And only 1 year from what I'm reading. Bump it to 750hp and no warranty.

No aftermarket part will void your warranty, and no, the Super snake is not stock. You buy the GT500 first, then you take it, and ship it yourself to the supersnake factory to have it changed. That has nothing to do with Ford, so it's aftermarket. Aftermarket is any part that does not come with the vehicle from the factory. If you were to order a mustang, and have them add on a part like a spoiler for example at the ford dealership before you pick it up for the first time, that spoiler is still aftermarket, since it did not originate from the factory. A ford dealer explained it to me once.

There is a website that has the specs, including 0-60 & 1/4 mile times for all years & models of Mustangs. I'll hunt around for it. That'll answer the OP's original question. Does anybody even remember the original question?

---------- Post added at 06:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:36 AM ----------

The Ford Mustang Cobra Jet is a stock Mustang but it is not street legal. It does not have a VIN that can be registered in any state for a license plate.

It ask whats the fastest stock mustang, not if it was street legal
So that would make cobra jet fastest stock correct?

The cobra jet comment was intended for the person who posted to just put street tires on it and drive it on the streets.

I don't know that the cobra jet is faster than the GT500. Would need to see Ford's numbers on both cars.

Let me settle this, the fastest stock mustang is mine. It is a 1987 Ford Mustang GT with an automatic transmission, it has a newer set of the cheapest possible tire on it and new windshield wipers! It has 113,000 miles on it and needs a new front left wheel bearing. It was, it is and it always will be the fastest stock mustang!

That seems to be aftermarket. It looks like it might have some lighter body components on it. Definitely not a Ford product. I wonder what's pushin that screamer.
