Yep, they told me I could be a pilot, they left out the part of needing a college degree. Looking back tho, some of my best memories were in the 9yrs I spent in the AF. I got to fly in an F4 once, and always flew in the cockpit on cargo planes.

If my recruiter would have been honest with me I would have been a loadmaster straight out of basic training. I have 0 idea why he didn't its not like they don't always need loads or anything. W/E... 10 years later I'm finally going all over the place as a FCC. Not like you can't be a load on the outside either, plenty of these guys get out and fly for Kalita/Evergreen/Atlas etc... Blah, my own fault. I remember that guy's name and exactly what he looked like too, if I ever see him again I will be hard pressed not to give him a good, hard, swift kick right in the taint. I know I know, my own fault for not researching... It was 2001, internets was not like it is now, I was 17, young and stupid and nobody in my family had been in the military since Vietnam and they were in New Mexico.

What I'm saying is, anyone thinking of joining should find someone who is currently in and pick their brain. Recruiters will lie their asses off although with the lower quotas nowadays it might be a little better.

Along with a bunch of other crap haha but I got to work on the c-130j as an elec. & environmental specialist.. so it wasnt too bad. Better than my friend who was a bad test taker and was given the cook (services) job lol

A dude in an H2 Hummer scolded me about my Mustangs gas millage and how bad it hurts the environment. I point out his Hummer is no Saint on the environment and he then proceeds to tell me he has a big family and needs the room. So a crew cab eco boost F150 isn't big enough?

Livestock produce far more CO2 each year than all our automobiles ever could dream of. I'm all for gas mileage for saving my wallet, the environment will not be hurt by me running a sports car with no cats. My stang gets over 20mpg easy btw...

Yea, also the Chinese using fuel to power huge factories making useless products and cheating the American economy. I agree, the last thing environmentalists should be concerned with are mustangs. Also if are government cared so much about emissions and fuel economy we should start to use Diesel 4 cylinders in more cars. The dam things get almost 45 highway nowadays.

Agreed mostly, however China isn't cheating our economy, we are letting them take advantage of it because we keep buying their slave labor made ****. I know I'm guilty of it too. As far as emissions, yeah I haven't the first clue in hell why small turbo diesels are not all the rage over here. I mean seriously I go to Europe and half the stuff over their is a diesel. Taxis, rental cars, minivans... and there are a LOT of stick shifts too. When was the last time (if ever) anyone here besides me rode around in a turbo diesel minivan with a 6 speed manual trans? And the damn things get 50+mpg all day. Guy I work with has a 2006 Volvo turbo diesel sedan with a manual trans and claims 55 mpg driving to work every day. I want one...

You are correct sir...Diesels do get better mileage than most hybrids. For example, back in the 1993 when I was in High-school...My buddy had a VW Rabbit with a 1.6 liter diesel, we could put $4 of diesel (Diesel was $.48 a gal) in it and drive for 2 weeks. I think it got close to 60mpg. The newer VW TDI cars average close to 55mpg, I have thought about getting one many times for a DD. My Diesel truck got 20mpg and it had 700+ HP, running on 37'' tires and weighed 8000 lbs.

There are some tunes out there for those cars...Bump up the HP and Economy...

"Bet you forgot this was supposed to be a fuel economy test, huh? After about ten 0-to-60-mph runs, numerous stops, and a bunch of canyon carving, the Jetta hit 36.3 mpg. Not bad, considering the car was driven foot to the floor much of the time."--Diesel Power Magazine

Juiced-Up VW Jetta TDI - Diesel Power Magazine

Check this out, 84mpg!

Yea, Volkswagen wants to bring a 2.0l turbo diesel Tiguan over to us but our government won't let them because of the heavy taxing that it would bring because its a SUV. One with 4 wheel drive would be a beast I want one of those!

Went by a huge rivalry football game at my old school last night and drove by doing the spend limit and some punk kid with his boyfriends yelled slow that pos down! Lol its funny because they were walking home as in have no car. Whether my car is a pos in your opinion or not its a lot better than their method of transportation. Lol jealousy and ignorance of immaturity never ceases to amaze me.
Did piss me off though and the only thing that stopped me from getting out of the car is often at those games weapons are pulled (mostly knives but sometimes were guns) by the thugs that go just to talk s*** and those were the type

Lol I was drivin to work the other day and this dude in a suburban waited till I was right next to him looked at me, leaned out the window and flicked his cigarette at my car, it hit my windshield and pissed me off so bad... So for the next few miles we were yellin back and fourth, he kept talkin **** and wouldn't pull over to get his *** kicked so I drove up in front of him reached over grabbed my leftover Chinese food pulled the lid halfway up and tossed it back. Seseme chicken smushed all over his grill and hood and a little on his windshield. After he flicked me off and got off the highway I regretted it tho..... That was some good Chinese :'( lol
