Just make sure you have something ready for when he uses the classic "built not bought"

I'll point out that the only " built" he did was a cam replacement. And that his "build" is slow as dirt

When drag racing it's actually better to just leave it in Drive.

Haha that's kind of funny, that reminded me of an encounter one of my buddies had. He had a WS6 decide to run him in his K20 swapped Integra Type-R and blew the guys doors off while eating some chicken nuggets from Wendys

The stick shift is a lost art form these days or is getting to be. My kid (or kids if I have more) will be REQUIRED to get her license on a stick shift just like I was.

It is a lost art. Even my dad didn't want me to get a standard. I have an auto but I really want to get a stick. I drove a standard GT loved it, drove a termi, didn't get it out if second but I loved it even though I stalled getting up a steep driveway lol.

Same here. My kid will know how to drive stick. It's sad to see all my fellow highschool friends that barely know how at the most. And my girlfriend who cried after trying and stalling a whole bunch of times.

Lol the "ghost clutch", happens to me when I DD a stick for awhile. Which I am doing now. Tomorrow might be the first rain commute. Hate to do it but this car is not a collector vehicle and I'm sick of not driving it and my Expy gets 14mpg... My 98 is barely below 1/4 tank and already 100 miles on the tripometer.

My dad said I wouldn't want to get a manual... He didn't stop me from getting one though because his old mustang was a manual and his corvette right now is a manual. It's cause it's a city type are and no hydraulic clutch, but my leg got used to it.

A guy on another post on here said the oil drain holes in cylinder heads are the size of pins.

I disagree

That's a pushrod head but they're similar as far as the oil drain size.

I learned to drive with an automatic for about a year, then I got my clutch. I'm glad I did it that way because when just starting out driving there is so much going on that you try to pay attention to. But then again if you think your kid will be a distracted driver, then you need to get them a clutch. I have always been very attentive while driving, but when I started driving with 3 pedals I became even more observant.

I know of a few people in my school that might be stupid enough to do that to my car... It would end badly for them...
