Weathers effect on performance

So I've been wondering lately how weather affects your ET's, traction, power.. I've learned that in high pressure or above 30in of mercury you make more power because there is more air in the air I got in an argument with one of my friends that say its better to race in lower pressure because the air the car travels through is less dense. But I kept telling him the more pressure you get more dense air which means more fuel you can burn leading to the faster you go and more power you make. What would be the perfect altitude, pressure, humidity, temps, and SUNnY or cloudy? And what other conditions affect your performance at a track and by how much of a difference does weather and such make?
