The next open test and tune night is June 14th, Father's Day weekend. The 15th is "Saturday Night Nitro" show, with loads of Funny Cars and Nostalgia Top Fuel cars racing under the lights.

In that case, why don't we shoot for a fall meet- Bakersfield in the summer is as hot as the back door to hell. September 6th and 20th are available, with 7th being another Nitro Night.

Would we be able to get on the track with our cars?

Would we be able to get on the track with our cars?
Absolutely! The cost per car is $20 to race- I have gotten as many as 8 runs in. That all depends on how many cars are there. Here is a link to Famoso's Friday Night Drags page-
Auto Club Famoso Raceway

I'll have to find out when my move in date for college is.

Wouldn't a place like Monterey be more of the center of Cali though. Bakersfield is like 4 hours for me

As far as the Nitro Night thing is concerned, you just have not lived until you have experienced a Top Fuel dragster make a pass at night, with the smell of nitro stinging your eyes, the 5' tall jets of flame coming out of the pipes and the sound of 5,000 horsepower thundering down the strip. Getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Monterey is nice, but it would be an 8 hour trip for those in San Bernadino.

Our track has a lot of both, but all the fast cars are Muscle, usually late model GM cars running 10s through 12s

This would be fun. Just imagine the caravans to and from there.

Can I suggest Famoso for a spot. Lots of inexpensive sleeping spots around there as well.
