For 7k you can get a 99-04 GT, but not quite a 05-09 V6... So I would say your best bet would be to get a 99-04, and I'm assuming your a teenager because its your first car. The insurance really won't be much different between the v6 and GT. I'm 18 and have a 01 Bullitt (GT) that I got for $7800 with about 135k on it. Insurance for base coverage is about $100 per month, which is about what it was when I was driving our pick up. The 99-04 was built really solid and if maintained well can last well past 300-350k easily.

Hi, if u want a newer stang I say save up to 10 grand and you can get a pretty good 05 v6, for my first car I got a 05 with 74,000+ miles for about 10g. So if u don't mind waiting save up but it's summer and you know u want to go out cruising so get a older v8 stang if u can't wait.

I got my 02 gt for 6000 it had 100,000 miles and this car is pretty darn fun. My bro has an 08 v6 and its no fun to drive to me anyways. Its a little slower, and doesnt have the v8 sound that i cant live with without.
