Ok, this guy is selling a 03 GT auto with 90k on the board. The selling price he was asking was 8750 but he dropped it to 8k for me. Should I still try to negotiate with him to drop it too 7750? I just need help negotiating and determining if ill be making a right purchase

Offer 7250.

I usually piss people off negotiating and walk away a lot. I offer a bogus price then wait for the counter offer then try to meet in the middle

Hahaha I don't want the dude walking off on me but I'll make that offer. But the price he's asking is that a fair price? Obv I'm not trying to buy the car the price he wants it at.

Price varies by area, so people on the west coast and what not will not exactly know what's a fair price in NJ

Like nj said prices vary from state to state. In Cali there are so many mustangs being sold it drives the mustang market price down so you can get a great deal. I got my 02 gt with 100k on it for 4200

Go to Kelly Blue Book and NADA they will both give you very good idea what the car is actually worth. You can compare that to his price and negotiate from there.

+1 on that. they will both ask for your zip code, to give you a good price on what the car is selling for in your area. good luck in your decision.
