need help

I need some help.. aight so my girlfriends car stoped running last week when we were going to the store.. we heard something crack and it just woyldnt move anymore in any gear. It starts but won't move.. so we took it to a mechanic and he swapped it with another tranny.. but before I took it with him I marked the old tranny with a screwdriver. And now the new trans has the same marks exactly.. but he painted that area with black paint .. he said to make it look nice.. I call it bs.. I told him to show me the old trans and he said he dosent have it with him anymore.. he said that the cv axle was bad so he replaced it also.. could a bad axle be the problem for the car not to move??

Yes if the axle seized that could do it. I say that sounds like bull**** too.
