The first vehicle I ever had was a red 98 Ranger. I got pulled over 2 times for bull crap stuff. Never owned a black car. Except for a 83 thunderbird. But it didn't run, so I don't count it.

Fox body or new edge?

I find that in my town if your car has graphics on it its a cop magnet. Literally every time I get my car out I'm stalked by police. Might be because I got pulled over for 20 over. And having 427 on my makes it even better...

And there's a Stage 3 down here. Not sure what year you're looking for though. It's a 14 I believe.

Yeah people who know cars will like your fox body better. Average joes will like your New edge better.

Everybody has a New Edge or regular SN-95.

If you are trying to be different or build a race car, the Fox body is where its at. If you want a little more modern and universally liked look, then the New edge is better. But like I said, New edge GT is very non-original. Its like a Civic with knock off wheels and camber... not special unless you raelly have something crazy done or its in amazingly perfect condition.

How is the new edge gt non original?

Please tell me more.

And the whole comparison to civics and camber?

It's a foolish statement...
Car enthusiasts like what they like.
And there isn't anything wrong with a new edge GT...

Er body has a mustang and therez hella haterzz on mustangs. its not a Ferrari and bone stock New edge mustangs are a very common sight.

I myself drive a 1999 mustang GT because it is a great car and I love driving it. NOT because I am trying to make a fashion statement or convince people I have big PP in my pants. Average Joes don't know the difference between a New edge 5 speed Cobra and a new edge auto V6 and they see the auto v6 in every high school girls driveway and assume that all mustangs are no big deal.

I think a fox body mustang is more original to be driving, but still probably not as widely appreciated by average onlookers as some cars are. Any car guy knows a fox body is rad though.

That stuff only matters if you are in high school and care what other people think. I don't think most adults care what random average joes see them driving, as long as its not embarrassing, but car enthusiasts like myself enjoy being noticed by other car enthusiasts who might approach me and become bestest friends talking about go fast stuff that I take pride in. I think that's kinda why you see a lot of guys with a separate "daily driver" car. My stang is more than just transportation to me. Its something im passionate about, and yeah I do feel proud when I drive it. But yeah... Im NOT trying to diss on mustangs, Im just telling you guys how I think mustangs are perceived by other motorists. A lotta people do really like these cars though. Be proud you're in a mustang, but still realistic.

I think anybody who is driving a mustang has a pretty kick *** life.. You know? at least you're not walking 1,000 miles from sudan to fricken Kenya just to save your life from a genocide! --hits bong--

Depends on what you call "original".

My definition of original would be something like a dodge slant 6 in a Datsun with a draw through supercharger and 2 carbs on it making 450 rwhp. Its something you just never see. Who the hell has a car like that? Nobody has one like that. That's why its original if you did have it.

Your definition might include rocking around in one of the most popular icons in American history.
Nothing wrong with that.

When most people think of American muscle, Mustang is near the top of the list. Its a legend among the status of Corvettes and Harley Davidson. The mustang is the AK-47 of cars, in my opinion. The fact that so many people buy these means that the price can stay down and we can keep getting a LOT of performance for a damn low price. These are probably one of THE best performance/dollar ratio cars out there just because of how ford runs their production and how the supply/demand works out for them.

But when I say that a mustang is not necessarily original to be seen in, I don't mean it in a bad way. Its sort of unoriginal in the same way that apple pie is. Nobody is shocked to see an apple pie.. but everybody likes it when they do, and you can make a damn nice apple pie.

Plus, why would I try to diss on new edge mustang owners... I literally OWN the car that I am talking about right now...
theres a reason I own a new edge gt

I know this is gonna piss people off but I think the early Fox bodies were ugly. They remind me of a Ford Escort or Tempo I was driving a Camaro back then. The later Fox bodies, the last couple years is where I started to like them and from then on.

I will say from personal experience, NOTHING made recently turns heads like a really nice Fox.

Althoug for a real easy turnkey cheap car to tinker with... 94/95 cars get no love and are the best of both worlds especially the Cobras. A 2004 automatic GT is another one to look at. Built trans from the factory in 2004 only and the newest of all the 79-04s.

The 04 GT automatics and 04 Mach 1 automatics were the only models to get the 4R75W. This is a "factory built" version of the 4R70W and is good for a lot of power. They aren't going to be as crazy as a fully aftermarket built one but they are good for much more power than the 03-down transmissions that generally are not safe to push past 500ft lbs.

Figures when I finally settled on an automatic New Edge I would get one that was exactly one year too old.

If I do wind up in another New Edge (kicking it around vs a $500/mo payment for a newer car) it will be an 04 Auto hardtop. Either White or Competition Orange.

So unoriginal = common cars.

That's fine, but the reference to civics lol

Although mustangs is same near civics when it comes to controversial and being the most hated.

You either like or you hate them. No in between

Everything that's fun involves a death trap type situation lol, doesn't it?

But yeah, I wouldn't want to get in a collision in that car. I would want to get a 5 point harness and cage it up a little better like a regular race car. It would look sick if it were caged, I think.

There is no way to know how that thing will hold up in an accident until it happens! lol at least my Mustang has been crash tested! There is several videos of it on YouTube it is cool though. Should be safer than a motorcycle!

Exactly. I cant ride motorcycles anymore. I would rather be racing motocross than doing muscle car stuff, even though I love cars too. I think that car would be the perfect mix between the two things.

Bikes (that I rode) are simple machines, no whimpy luxury crap, and are straight racing machines. Its hard to find that stuff in a car. In my opinion, the only things that should be on a car are things that make it faster and more reliable. Nothing else matters to me lol

Mileage? That car would be worth about $12k with lower miles and being an auto it probably will be a hard sell for them even though there were like 200 ever made in Comp Orange/Auto and the 04 Mach is THE most capable of all the 04-down cars when it comes to drag racing. People cry about the cast crank and the lower RPM on the rev limiter... anyone who knows anything about these motors knows the cast crank is good to 7K and any good tune will get rid of the factory crap.

Yeah the termi will make more power but the 04 auto Machs had the built trans, a better converter, the 4V, the SRA and another little known fact is the Mach specific automatic computer (SYM2) has a faster processor than the GTs and can shift the car into the 9s without having to go to a standalone controller or a manual vavle body.

But the problem is...

Mach 1

Bullitts are better than Bullets
Problem is you can get a GT for half the price and besides the 4V the cars are functionally identical. Not sure if I'd be willing to pay $12-$14k for a real nice low mileage Mach when I can get the GT for $6k.

Yeah the Mach is more capable out of the box and you get the numbered car/goodies but... Besides the 4V heads, the WAP block and the computer... eh...
