05 to 07 Mustang V6 or GT

I am looking to buy an 05 to 07 Mustang but i don't know what to get either the V6 or the GT (as an everyday car). Can anyone give me the Pro's and Con's of both.Im looking to get either one as an automatic and i know having an automatic GT is hard to hear but i had a stick shift some years ago and got tired of the stick. The wife has a 07 v6 and it has some nice upgrades to it to boost up the HP but i also know the GT starts at 300 hp.So someone help me decide......Also either one i buy im looking to put a Eleanor body kit on it a month later.9 times out of 10 am i really gonna be racing it?

If you are the type that worries about gas cost and MPGs then don't get a V8. If you want a car that has power and that's why you bought it then get a GT. It funny when the people that buy a V8 make threads on here about wanting better MPGs. Remember though....whatever you get enjoy it!

If you have any slight desire for the GT then get that, otherwise you will kick yourself in the butt every day for not getting it.

Would you rather have power and not use it or need power and not have it? Depending how you drive, the mpg isn't terrible. I average 17-18 in my gt and also get the 07 just because it has an aux input

I'm 18 in college and no job... I have to spend my money very wisely, I still have no regrets of ever getting a GT even though the mpg is bad.

When i got my car i could afford either an 05-09 V6, but then i realized i could get a 99-04 GT for cheaper. Faster, better sounding, good looking, all for cheaper... I ended up getting an 01 Bullitt. But for me, the sheer sound of a v8 is something i cant give up.

If you plan on modifying it, get a gt but if you don't, the save your money an get a v6. If you're concerned about mpg then obviously get the six but if you're concerned about gas mileage, you're looking into the wrong kind of car lol.

I'm just kidding sixpac. Don't get sore.

I'll tell you why I didn't buy a cobra or a GT500. Because I'm a cheap ***! I bought the most inexpensive base model Muscle car that the big 3 had to offer.

Aww come on! The cavalier is a fun car. It's a push rod motor. It can take a hell of a lot abuse. This one has over 200K and hasn't had any internal work done. It's a great runner.

Now who's being disrespectful? You're passing judgement on a car which you have no idea what this one in particular can do.

Get the gt trust me. I started off with a 6 and I banged myself for that reason, then got a gt and still wasn't enough, now I have a cobra and I'm already used to it so now I want something faster

Lol gas mileage is marginally better in a v6. The 3.8 is a really bad engine for mileage . It'a reliable for the most part, but it's weak. I am saying this from experience I've bad both a v6 and Gt new edge mustang. It may have cost me a little bit more in gas (really not a hell of a lot and I'm one of those guys that waits til the last minute to get gas at .02 cheaper lol. ) but it is way more fun to drive. I had my gt for 5 years and everyday I started it up to go to work, I always grinned and legit all giddy. It was my morale boost and it gave me a smile at the end of a long day. The 4.0 is a little bit faster and a little better on gas, but again, the v8 will only marginally decrease your mileage. You won't notice any of that as much if you are buying a standard and driving more high way than city miles.

It's easier to buy a gt and make 400hp

Way easier with a v8 but you can make a v6 hit 400 if you got a pocket full of cash. Forced induction, H/C/I, and full exhaust would get you there

Like everyone else has stated. Power = GT. gas mileage and affordability = V6
