Dumped exhaust???

Is there any performance related to a dump exhaust set up compared to traditional duals out the back? I've seen plenty of both on the street and at the track and just curious if its a personal sound preference or is it actually better because the exhaust exits earlier?

You can run wider tires and a live rear axle..

So in reality other than the weight it wouldn't necessarily benefit my 04 gt right away?

It won't be louder on the outside but rediculously loud on the inside. It makes your exhaust deeper. I used to run them and they are really pointless
