One Tuff Question!!

ok guys, I've always talked to my friend about how are cars are V6 and it would be nice to have a V8 but I gave him kind of a hard question. I told him "would you rather keep your V6 2014 Mustang or have a 05-09 V8 Mustang?" I just keep thinking, it's either you choose the newer body style or that nice loud V8 sound. what would y'all pick? thx guys, V6 Power. 3.7 Power

That was not one of the choices man!

Current V6 over the 05-09 4.6 Mustangs.

Well... You all know the answer to that...

+1 even though the new sixxers are no joke it's just the sound that gets me. I'd rather have a stock gt with a catback or axle back than a full bolt in sixxer. That's just me though.

Naw...All you need to do is, get one of those muscle car "soundtrack" CDs and play it real loud...

I'll take my 2013 V6.
Since a few are stuck on the sound of the V8, although the 4.6 3 valve sounds good it still does not compare to the big valved 302 Boss, the 351 CJ's or the old FE's for sound.

I'll stick to my 3.7 V6 MCA

I have a great sound with Magnaflow streets on my V6. It may not sound like a V8 5.0 but it sounds very good to my ears.

I have BBK Shorties, FRPP Cut and Clamp X-Pipe and Borla Touring A/B's and love the sound of mine.
Will it sound like a V8, never, Something about 60 degrees VS 45 degrees on the valves opening. Do I want a 5.0, not to commute 500 miles a week like I do with my V6

Hey Siber Expres

You said it, Even though your V6 does not sound like a V8 it still sounds good to you. Sounding different is not all that bad. I had a Mini John Cooper Works that was a turbo four that did not sound like my V6 Mustang or any V8 but it sure sounded really good.

If you want the Absolute best sounding engine exhaust you need to install a Harley Davidson V-twin with a nice set of Fistail mufflers on it. Then you will have the best sound of them all.

I love the sound of the 4.6 V8 even better then the 5.0 but my car is a six so I got the mufflers with the sound I like best. (Magnaflow Streets) It sounds nasty without being real loud and obnoxious. The nice deep rumble is music to my ears. Every once in a while I like to get up at around 4 AM and take a nice no traffic peaceful drive just to listen to my exhaust note along with some old fifty's music on my radio.

If anybody ever thinks they can make a six sound like an eight they are dreaming, But you can make a six sound really good for a six.

Ronnie

Right on here. Can a sixxer still sound good and make decent power, yes but you will never sound like a v8. And to the quote earlier about the boss engines and ole 351s you are on point. Lopes like that make small children cry and the panties o every soccer mom wet.

Idk a cammed 4.6 with cutouts sounds pretty damn sexy.

2010 GT is what I'd tell you (and is what I have). New body, old but polished 4.6 = Good for people with a budget like me

Id say the 2010 GT too. I have one with a bunch of bolt ons but my flowmaster outlaws and off road x pipe get me looks and thumbs up all day long. The jlt cai and bama hybrid tune have helped me surprise many new 5.0s and camaro ss.

The 4.6.. I don't ever want people to be able to say "you wouldn't have that problem with V8" in a country sounding voice...(and yes I say that to some people, but I'm just kidding around).

No offense but I doubt that. You'd have to pick up nearly 120 crank HP from those bolt ons to compare to a stock 5.0s power.

That's not the OP's point though. I said the 2010 GT would be a good "happy medium" bc you'd get the new body and still could afford a V8 engine.

Also, 2010 GT has 315 HP (05-09 had 300) off the lot so it can still beat those heavy v6 slowmaros and 2011 3.7 v6 stangs rated at 305 HP w/o upgrades

Yeah I agree with you. I've seen many 2010s that look awesome and there is a hellion twin 2010 that running 10s every weekend at the track so they can be fast too. I was just saying a bolt on 2010 doesn't really compare to a 5.0. If a 2010 is the closest you can get to the new body style though I would do it in a heartbeat
