warranty question

I got a rear dif gear swap to 4.10 gears. Had bad vibration under car. Took it back to the shop and they said the drive shaft had alot of play in it where it connects to the transmission. Would this still be covered under fords warranty or would I need to just get it fixed elsewhere?

That actually depends on your dealer. Did this shop tell you if it was the front u-joint or the slip-joint that was loose? If it is the u-joint, you might consider biting the bullet and buying a one-piece driveshaft. If it is the slip-joint, although rare, they usually wear before the output shaft and that is a fairly simple fix. Either way, all the dealer can tell you is no.

he did not say what it was specifically, but he said there was alot of play by the transmission end, and that he took it off and found that it was also unbalanced.

I'd call him back and ask for specifics.

Can always try taking it to a dealer.

I'd honestly just upgrade to a 1 piece aluminum...
