That actually depends on your dealer. Did this shop tell you if it was the front u-joint or the slip-joint that was loose? If it is the u-joint, you might consider biting the bullet and buying a one-piece driveshaft. If it is the slip-joint, although rare, they usually wear before the output shaft and that is a fairly simple fix. Either way, all the dealer can tell you is no.
