We did that in our corvette before, it can say your active and average mpg. So as we were going downhill my dad took it out of gear and we started to get 99.9mpg lol

Free up your exhaust with a dual setup and you'll see another 1-2mpg

by the way, what's the gap on your spark plugs? because i can't decide between the accel coil pack which has 39000V and higher current capacity and the screamin deamon one which has 45000V and stock current capacity.

Mine are still at stock gap but I'm probably getting iridium tipped plugs in a week or two and I'll gap those to a 0.065

Lol, you people crack me up. Modding your car for mpg is pointless. You will never actually break even and save money.

Also, I don't see a 4.0 mustang getting over 25 mpg for anything but a tank at 55 mph. The average just won't be there.

When you have way lower mpg than normal it does make a lot of sense. Also, when it comes to ignition, better mpg means more power

Better mpgs = more power? Wishful thinking. Simple breakdown; more air and fuel = more power.

Hahaha you crack me up because of how ignorant that comment is! Nobody mods their car for mpg...but guess what?? Routine maintenance and performance parts 99% increase mpg except for say larger injectors. So no better mpg is just a bonus from performance mods bud

My comment is ignorant? Perhaps you should read your own.

Modding a car for looks and power are great. The people who claim 2+ mpg increase from cai or exhaust are plain wrong.

I will stand by my statement. Regardless of what you do a 4.0 Mustang simply will not average over 25 mpg over 10k miles.

25 is still great in my case so why not pay less for gas specially here in europe where the gas price is at least double the US one.

Well call me a liar buy i got 27 highway with the cruise on going 69 ish .But alot depends on the conditions also hills, temp tire pressure etc etc so you cant really say that 4.0 will only get 25 mpg nothing more.

I did once get 30 after a long drive but never repeated. Actually it got worse in time even though it's propperly looked after. I even considered swaping the engine (i know i'm way off but here we also have some astronomically high taxes for what you call small engines) but i didn't want to mess it up because i love the way this hungry beast drives

On a regular basis you average 30 mpg in your 4.0?
