gears... they won't net you power but will let you use what you have better

Yea, for faster launches I would definitely go with some bigger gears, perhaps some 3.73s and maybe even a torque converter.

I'm in the same boat as these guys. Gears are your best option for quicker acceleration off the line. At the bare minimum I'd go with 3.73's, but you may also like 4.10's. Either will really wake up your Mustang!

It's hard to see from your avatar, but do you have a GT or v6? Just wondering because the v6 Mustangs have a different rear end, thus different sized gears.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help out with!

3:73 or 4:10 gears. Best and cheapest acceleration mod. Will be a kick in the balls getting those gears compared to factory 2:73 gears. Lmao

Those are good upgrades too, but you'll see the largest gains from gears and a custom tune. If you can swing all 4 upgrades then that's great, but if I had to choose two- it would be gears and a tune every time!

I've found 4.10 gears to be the most entertaining too. 3.73's are a close second, but just not the same as a set of 4.10's. Try a search on the forum about the differences in gear ratios. You'll find a lot of mixed opinions out there!

Yes LOTS of mixed opinions. Maybe after reading a few Pro & Con threads, the OP will be more comfortable with his next choice. Especially seeing that there's a ton of people running each ratio and they all have their own personal viewpoints. In other words- see which viewpoints fit you best!

Go 3:73 or 4:10's. I have 3:73 gears and love them.

It may not necessarily be cheap but it is one of the biggest bang for your buck you can buy.

In the long run saves some sort of money if you were to try to make that power without one.

Not much at all. Maybe 2mpgs if you keep the same driving habits as stock gears. And hardly changes at all if you alter driving style a bit.
