2010 vs 2013

Hello guys, I am fairly new to this site and do not know if this thread exists or not. My debate is over the 2010 and 2013 mustangs. It will be my first car and I want it to be memorable. If I got a 2010 it would be a GT Premium, if 2013 then it would be a v6. What I am looking for is personal preference on the two cars: how do they drive, which one looks better, which one sounds better, exc. I have done my research and apparently the 2013 v6 has about 10 less horsepower than the v8, but I am sure they sound completely different. Thanks,
-Daniel

If you can afford the gas and insurance just go with the gt and don't look back. As soon as you hear one if you buy the v6 you'll regret it.

Ok, thanks for the tip. What if you had a choice between a 2010 gt and a 2013 gt, which would you prefer and why?

Get a 11 gt. Prices in used ones are coming down. You'll love the 100 extra ponies.

13 GT 105+HP.

0-60mph time of 4.3 vs 5.2/5.3s

And... It's a newer car with warranty

Really u gotta ask? Lol

I'd go with the 13 there. Get way more power than the 2010. But it all comes down to what you want/can afford.

If you have to ask if a new 5.0 is better than a 3V 4.6L then you have obviously not done ANY research lol.

I'd say its worth it. I guess it really depends on exactly what you're looking for.

+1

Yeah 2011 is better. You're gonna void the warranty anyway so find a lower mileage

It'll cost you more than 5 grand to extract about another 100hp and most likely you wouldn't be able to do that to a 2010 GT without forced induction or NOS

If it was me I would look for an 11+ 5.0 instead of a 10 gt. I wouldn't trade my 3.7 for a 4.6.

You could probably find a used 2011 5.0 for that.

I'm messin with u a bit. If u can afford it.

Performance Wise:
Boss 302 > Super Snake > GT500 > GT > V6

I put the Boss first because stocker it's a great all around performer that kills at the track.

Dunno what your gaming for but V6 is the best "performer" in that its got better MPG and it basically looks the same as a GT.

GT is the best "modder" car because its a better canvas to mod than a V6.

As for looks... It'll be Civil War up in here if we get to deciding which gen looks better.

Lets just say a bolt on 5.0 full exhaust, boss mani and tune can compete with a 4.6 s197 supercharged stang... The 5.0 is an amazing motor... You can find an 11 or even 12 In the low to mid 20k. A stock 5.0 alone will make you poop yourself

Ok, thanks. Will it sound different than 4.6? And a 5.0 also takes premium gas, still worth it?

It adds up to about $4 a full tank from unleaded to premium. Very miniscule.

The 5.0 sounds a bit different than the 4.6. YouTube will help you decipher this.

Ultimately if you're on the edge test drive both of them. But I'd recommend the 5.0. Simply amazing

thank you. I like that black on black look. The stripes would look good to people who know what they are looking at, but some people might not even notice the stripes. On my car I have the matte black stripes and some people don't notice them so if it was black I'm sure it would be less noticeable

Being a first car, I would understand the comparison between the 2 choices... But honestly OP, I would take the 2010 out of the equation, 2011+ V6 and and V8 have completely newer engines which are much better... As weird as this sounds, I'd take the 2011+ V6 over a 2010 V8... Basically the 2010s are the Mustangs red headed stepchild, ppl with 2010s are not happy that they had the new bodystyle with the old drivetrain

---------- Post added at 09:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 AM ----------

A 2011 GT would definitely suit u best in your price range

IMHO, get a 13GT, I did. Shop round find a low mile trade in. I found one with 4k miles on it which dropped the price $10k!!!! Don't settle for a v6. Ull regret it in less than a month. Unless u already have a GT and looking for commuter car. Lol

I spent 20k on a premium gt with 35k miles 6 months ago. Negotiated an extended warranty for free too. Car is in mint condition. The deals are there. You just gotta look.
