I would say either have it tuned to remove the iac as well, or modify the whole throttlebody, linkages, and sensors to make it fit.

I had the same problem, you will need to get a plenium spacer for that to clear, here is a pic of my setup before turbos

I'm glad your getting everything worked out but can I just add something?

These problems would have been avoided with the stocker.

Also, do you live in an emissions state?

I'm in sunny Florida. The sunny place for shady people. No emissions here.

With the stock what?

The stock intake. I'm in Fl too, and am glad for no emissions!

Should this really be taking this damn long? Is this not extremely ridiculous? Just today I started getting really mad. This is severely exaggerated.

Well here I am. Still Stangless.

Let's make a vote. Is it the car or the mechanic?

Thanks CJ

05 lol thanks I guess, but doesn't answer my question! Is it the stang or the man?

I don't know anymore.

Even if I was going in the "right" direction (which is an opinion which varies from person to person) I think I would still have the same outcome in this situation.

The parts being slapped on. Does it really make sense to be taking this long?

sounds like a little both, just the difficulties along with modding, but no it shouldn't take this long. Is the mechanic busy on other cars or just waiting to be pointed in the right direction (parts)? or what is delaying the process?

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's "really busy" but he works at his own pace on people's cars that have a DD and leave their enthusiast car with him.

I left my DD.. We're having a semi-negative exchange of words. I don't dislike the guy or anything. As far as the process being delayed, not to knock him. Probably (really) isn't his fault, but it's always something as where I'm told it'll be ready tomorrow, then this weekend, then tomorrow, etc etc. It's the throttle body cables, bracket, clearance issues, IAC valve needed to be heavily modified.

I just don't get how the people on this page. If you click on "customer photos". Not all of them have everything I ordered from the 3 additional drop down menus. That and the comments are just conflicting with my experiences.

It's a massive headache. I've lost weight from all the darn walking I'm doing. (I'm already really thin and don't need to be losing any weight)

Just an insight.. You bought an intake made to use for race applications as you can read on AM so there's gonna have to be a lot of modifications .. Also get rid of the TB spacer and gain 2" of room because all they are is a paper weight anyway..

Well. There it is! All ready. It's a whole new car and it doesn't even sound the same at all. This thing rips right now.

My SCT / BAMA tuner is already in Miami, and Don from BAMA tunes is helping me out when it gets here. Filled out the form of mods and EGR delete. So they'll write the custom code once he walks me through everything when the tuner is here (how to get the proper code from the computer itself) using the tuner.

I haven't taken it above 3/4k yet cause I'm running a little lean. However, after the tune I'll be more than happy to do so.

I'll also be getting myself 24lb injectors when the wallet permits it.

Idle isn't that bad on the stock tune. It pulls really nicely and sounds amazing. It feels like it may be a little more quiet? But deeper? I can't explain it.

Anyways. Another update when the tuner arrives. If not today, Thursday.

Looks great! Have you noticed any sort of loss in torque? I would like to install one of those intakes if me car ever becomes a weekend toy.

Oh and I put the stock intake on, from the MAF on down. Cause that no name filter is just openly breathing hotter air. The stock one has that cover where it has a K&N filter inside at least. I'll make that "pretty" later.

Oh hell let me just go take a picture.

Thank you

I honestly have not! Then again, I haven't taken it above 3/4k so I can't say 99% just yet. But I haven't. It actually chirps when I don't want it to. 1st gear revs up pretty quickly.

Hope my tuner comes in today instead of Thursday.

I got my tuner on Christmas Eve. And I installed my own "custom" tune. That deletes the EGR and 93 octane. Set the idle and what not. This thing is amazing. It woke up!!!

My custom tune is going to be worked on tomorrow. Where they'll do something for the long tubes and 90mm throttle body.

^ lol I figured that after all the purchases. AM pieced all those parts specifically. I went with it. I was scared at first that I'd lose low end, but with a tune it's going great, feels much faster. It's actually breathing and when BAMA sends me my custom tune, I should be golden!

If you're not boosted you're hurting your performance with that big of a tb... Only reason you think it hasn't is because you've got a tune now.

You sir, are correct. I just took it above 4k and it doesn't do anything spectacular other than make noise.

What should I do now?

I wish I could get a blower lol.

75mm one, I would but I don't want to take it back to that shop again. Any idea on whether I can do it myself. He had to customize a lot to add that one on and I don't think I have the mechanical ingenuity to pull that off. I work on guns, not cars.

Plus that spacer is there.

What do you guys think?

Dude. I work on guns too... I promise you, you can figure it out of needed. Like Low said it takes like 10 mins. Maybe 20-30 since you haven't done it before.

I gotta remove the spacer and 90mm throttle body to swap out for a 75mm throttle body. Won't I have to so something about the slack since it'll be closer to the elbow now? He ha to customize the IAC valve and make custom throttle cables.

I'll take more detail pics tomorrow.

What a pain in the ***.

The website I bought it from.

-__________-

I needed a new intake manifold cause mine cracked. So I looked and found. Then it had 3 little drop down menus,

Edelbrock fuel rail kit

Low or ultra low elbow

And.... ::drumroll::

Accufab 90mm throttle body.

I was all like, "derp derp derp! Ok!"

Bought it all. Gave to a shop. Told them to make it work. They did.

Here I am. FML...

Lol thanks man.

I'm going to try my luck with doing the 70/75mm TB on my own. If I can't do it, I need to take it somewhere else. That 90mm is obnoxiously large.

In other news though, I took it just under redline today in 2nd gear. Went up to 75mph pretty quickly.

I wish I wasn't without it for so long and I could tell the difference. It just sounds different now and feels faster. But I'm assuming by these comments, the 70/75mm TB will make it feel even better.

Right?

Right?

Right, if you're not f.i you're hurting performance with a 90mm tb
