I'm currently 19 with a V6 and it's 103 a month insurance for my coverage. Not sure what kind of insurance you have but that is crazy but damn. One tip I suggest is actually switching cars around. Say each of your parents have a car, put you on the cheapest and your moms name on the mustang, unless your family all drives Mustangs, then ya gotta just bite the bullet

That's what we did, I'm in the F150, and my dad is on the mustang for insurance... I'm the only one who drives the mustang though.

Yeah how it is with ours is we have 8 vehicles and 2 classics. We have it set up so anyone can get in and drive anything, anytime. Doesn't it also depend on state to state and brand like many stated?

I'd just be happy you have insurance, I recently got in a accident, instead of paying 2,300 dollars of repair, i paid $500. Got my car washed and vacuumed, full tank of gas and towed for free. #USAA

Definitely smart! It varies from state to state because of population and whatever other "coverage" they offer. Some companies are more, some are less.

GA is like that, all you need is their insurance card and their permission, and you are covered to drive whatever within the state. If I really wanted to I could take myself off of insurance and let my wife be the only one with 4 cars, and 2 bikes. I'm sure in the long run that would not work out very well for me if something happens.

Your 20 years old. You will be placed in the young driver's group. 5-10 years you might get a break. How many companies have you tried?

Yup, and it not only is a regular boss 302, it's the patriot boss 302, it's got a slightly different design (paint wise) and has a slightly different suspension setup :p

I could live with this. It's more reasonable then 230$ a month.

I would be paying the car note and the title would be in my name so it would be hard to claim the car is my moms.

One of the few advantages of getting older. I went from a 2008 Jetta to a 2014 Mustang GT and my insurance went up $6/month for the same coverages. I pay $185/month for two vehicles with full coverage and a $250/deductible, towing, rental, etc. That's USAA. I'm sure I could get a bit cheaper but the customer service is fantastic. They have earned most of my financial business over the years through outstanding customer interactions.

A deer recently struck my wife's car. I did all the claim on the mobile app. They called me once just to confirm all the details. I took the car in, had it fixed, paid the deductible. bam. done. Same thing 10 years ago when I wrecked my Camaro (minus the mobile app).

I financed my Mustang through them. Again all on the mobile app. Entered some information, got instant approval. Decided to buy the car, activated the loan (Mobile app!), put in the dealership fax number. bam. Fax comes through, I drive out.

Sorry didn't mean to turn this into a USAA commercial!

USAA wasn't bad on my auto but wanted double for my house so I stuck with Allstate. I still use USAA for some investments though.

From what you've been saying it sounds like you need to pass on getting the 2011 mustang if you can. Save more money and by the time you are living comfortably with a full time job you'll be able to buy the latest and greatest.

I can afford it even with it being 230$ a month, I just was wanting to know others to see who I should shop around with.

I will be savings more cash for down payment, it's not like I'm buying at this moment. I am tired of driving my old 99 v6 tho. It's starting to show wear and tear (not the motor tho) especially because it's been in a fender bender. My car is becoming 16 years old. Time for something better

I use Esurance.

Just the 2012 v6 since I signed up on my own plan was 430 for full coverage and 4k aftermarket.

Funny thing is, added a Honda with full coverage (2000 Insight) and it went up to 450~ for the two lol (Six month)

Yep, my medical is more a month with Medicare than my car is a year.

Oh, but that's not bad if you are paying 430 for 6 months. I assumed 430 a month lol

I just went and actually pulled it.

Bodily Injury: 100k/300k
Property Damage: 50k
Uninsured Motorist: 100k

Both deductibles are 500, for each car. 30/900 rental reimbursement, 3.5-4k in after market, I decline towing.

I pay exactly $456.00 for six months for this coverage on the 2012 Mustang v6, and the 2000 Insight- except the Insight doesn't have any aftermarket coverage. I can't see it without the Insight, but looking back on ecomodder before I purchased it (and checked prices) adding the Insight only increased my 6 month bill by 39 dollars. $39 dollar increase for six months. It was a no brainer.

My 02 GT is in my name with insurance in my name.. One of the highest full coverage protection I can get and I pay $131 a month. Worth it to me. I'm a 22 year old single male with no accidents or tickets. I'd shop around if I were you.
