You are not correct, the name new edge is the sn95. Built from 94-2004.

New edge is not a name set by ford, all 94-04 are considered sn95...many people refer to the 99-04 as "new edge" but the correct term for all 94-04 is sn95

New edge is referring to the body style. The ford focus of our years also has a new edge body style. But new edge mustangs are still technically sn95. /discussion lol

Eh sort of. They changed interior and powertrain along with the exterior changes in 2005. 2008 they changed the same except for powertrain. All based on the same platform from 2001 though.

If you think your new edge has interior rattles you should drive a first gen Focus...my 07 sounds horrible on cold mornings.

Idk I love the interior in my Bullitt. Yea there is better interior in newer cars. But mine is 12 years old so it's expected.

I have 0 problems with my seatbelts. If they stay too loose you can pull the whole seatbelt out and increase the tension on the spool, problem solved. This makes them pull tight even running them through the loops on the seats. If they are twisted... again, pull them an re-install them sans twists and you are good. They come right out with torx bits.

2013 GT Brembo Pack Manual

Sloppy shifting - mainly fixed with Barton Bracket (did get short shifter too.
Deck Lid - Truly dislike the appearance. working on a custom fix if nothing comes out soon I like.
Interior - it is nice and overall I like it but little contrast with the black. Wish the brushed aluminum was on door and console as well as dash.

Every mustang to ever come out has had sloppy shifting from the factory. If it didn't, morons would complain about "harsh shifting" or "squeaky noise coming from the shifter". Like you said easy enough to remedy and not expensive either. I don't think I've driven a Mustang with a stock shifter since 2004...

14 V6 MT82 4000 miles cold start 1-2 shifts are hit and miss until I cycle thru the gears once. Afterwards its not to bad. +1 on the cup holders, my evening drive home rockstar can gets in the way. Ford could of used a 3.08 instead of the 2.73 in the rear but like the driveshaft issue they help keep the aftermarket companies in business.

I hate that they couldn't put a different material on the window seals to keep from scratching the window tint my hard earned money paid to tint. I hate how sometimes I have to turn the gas nozzle upside down to get gas in my babes. Im sure theres other things I need to think of
Skoundrel, knowing where you live are you sure that it's the weatherstripping? The trees in Texas have little critters in them called oak aphids. If you park under a tree here you are going to get covered with aphid urine. Since these tiny dots are sticky most people think this is tree sap but it is not. What happens when you open your windows, this stuff smears which looks like scratches. It washes off with soap and water and your tint should be as good as new.

Squeaky doors.. The plastic interior (especially the damn thing where the window controls are) is so ****ty lol. My whole car squeaks like plastic when I jump in it. Lots of engine noises... And I wish the car had more technology like the new ones with sync.. But that can't be expected out of 11 year old cars lol. Other then that I love my baby

I'm obviously nitpicking here:
  • I don't like the fact that there's a backseat, unless you have small children this is uncomfortable for most people. Give me that rear seat delete kit instead in the base model and add seats in as an option.
  • The interior chrome! Gonna take care of this hopefully when it warms up in a couple months
All in all I love my mustang. I couldn't have asked for anything better, this thing has been an absolutely perfect vehicle to me.

"You wouldn't have that problem with a V8..."(Redneck voice) Jk I think my transmission is crunchy too but I don't know any better because I used to drive an 2001 Ford Taurus.

I wish I had Race Red over Deep Impact Blue...

Drafty in the shifter area on cold days. Floor vents don't really do their job all that well.

My main dislike is simply that it is near the end of the ability of the chassis to keep up with the abilities of other cars. The basic chassis dates to 2000 and was severely downgraded for the Mustang, for reasons of cost and ability to handle high power levels. Unfortunately, the old chassis creaks and rattles on rough roads. The 2015 chassis is going to be a great improvement on the current model. My 08 Taurus has over 500 improvements over the previous year. All cavities were filled with plastic bubbles that reduce the road sounds. These types of small modifications will make for some great possibilities.

For ppl pre-2005 ppl complaining about all the lack of tech, install yourself a nice double din touchscreen with bluetooth or even a carputer and go to town. As far as chassis/suspension... the fox4 chassis was out so long there are a zillion parts for it to beef it up. Hell, Bruce Griggs' 98 Cobra outruns Ferarris around racetracks but that is a little extreme of an example.

One thing you can't change is the goddamn fisher price interior that came in the 94-04 but honestly... its grown on me since my first SN95 over a decade ago. Everything is functional and if you have a rattletrap, bust it down to carpet and re-assemble it/tighten everything up and that should cure most, if not all of your squeaks. My 98 interior is dead silent since the interior swap I did when I got it.

I have a double din already with all that junk, but small technology things really make a car. Like how many miles til e, or mpg's, or degrees outside. It's just a very dated car, but with good reason because it's 11 years old.

Even my middle console squeaks when I put leverage on it to move myself in my seat, I think it's just our interiors. Everything is in the clips and positioned correctly, so reassembling might or might not work. I have to say the area surrounding my radio (where the buttons are) is a lot better than in my 99. It looks cleaner and is tighter with less rattling. Still does a little though 😩

I just took mine to a tinting place to get redone and there is no felt on the inside piece of weather stripping. You can get a new part from ford though. I think they started using felt on like the 07 models
