Question: how low on a tank of gas have you taken your car? Here is mine.

I never, ever, go below 1/8th of a tank because of how bad it is for the car...your poor Pony.

I get down to a quarter tank, and that to me, is E. I have only once driven it to where the dinger alerted me to fill it up. I'm pretty sure when you let it get down that low, it sucks up all the crap on the bottom of the tank. Probably clogs up the fuel filter quicker. Not sure, but makes sense.

the day I got it I made it down to 2 miles to E but I was actually looking for somewhere to get gas & not get gang raped or shot in the process
+1 ON 1/4 tank = E

I was taking it down because I've been running a certain type of gas since I bought it and wanted to try Exxon. It's weird my car ran better on Exxon gas. Hahahaha

Still is no bueno for the car. I would have just diluted the old fuel with the Exxon.

I did put Exxon in at half a tank before letting it run all the way down. It still ran like crap so I let it run all the way down before adding a full tank it worked that way.

The fuel also acts as "coolant" for your fuel pump so letting it get that low is making it run hot. Ppl who are always running their **** down to the warning light shorten the lives of their pumps.

Interesting. I rarely let it get down that low. I usually fill it up when it is right below a quarter of a tank. Usually before the fuel light goes off

That fuel in your gas tank is going to stay cool even in hot summer months. It sits on top of the fuel pump plus obviously the cool fuel going through the pump cools it down. The less fuel you have in the tank the less heat dissipation you have. Good practice is to not let it get less than 1/4 tank.

The lowest I have gone is when my gauge said 45 miles to empty and fuel level low. It is not good to let it run low.
