99/01 Cobra vs LS1

So I'm leaning towards staying a mustang guy. The 99/01 cobras are what I've wanted for a while (except 03/04 Termi) and I'm wondering roughly what i would make HP with these mods

(I don't have a cobra yet but if I get one soon I wanna be able to smoke some ls1!)

-exhaust
-cai
-gears
-tune
-pulleys

Suspension:

-Cobra R bilstein shocks and struts
-mm isolators
-lowering springs
-drilled slotted rotors
-cobra brakes (obviously)
-stage 2 clutch and flywheel

Roughly what would it make HP and at the 1/4 mile?!

I can answer that, I'm at 305 to the wheels with those parts with 4.30 gears. Ran a 12.8 in the quarter for my best run.

You have to have at least 300-350 to the wheels to beat one. Your def NOT gonna SMOKE him but you MAY win. Ls1 aint no joke. I learned this the hard way but you need a supercharger to absolutely whoop on LS. Vortech should suffice. There's a reason not many people boost them. Cuz they don't need it they're beasts! Good look thkugh lol

I love the ls1. My dad had a firebird. It was pretty quick. I've ran a couple camaros and they are no joke! I pull away, mainly do to my gearing. But nothing quite sounds like a 4.6 mustang

That's not bad for a 12sec car. And I got a buddy with a ls1 basically stock. It's not fair he got it for $4500 with 155k miles. 99/01 cobras keep their value well!

Oh yeah. I prefer mustang. They sound better and most certainly look better. But that my personal opinion. And with the upgrades I have it's plenty fast

H/C/I LS1 with spray will put down close to 600rwhp. It's stupid easy to make power with them.

A lot of Mustangs are out there that can beat a LS1. The majority of the ones I know about, are garaged most of the time because they have so much power, the driver has to be on their toes constantly when applying throttle. Almost all the time, they own two Mustangs. One is a car to drive, and the beast to show and race.

Well either cobra or ls1, I'll sell my 96 gt for a gas saver most likely for work and winter.

Are cams worth it on 4v? I know they're like $1200

+1

You need to buy 4 f'n cams. WTF!!????

Boost is the way to go on modulars. Trying to get hp while n/a is an uphill battle

My next car will be either an Ls camaro or foxbody 5.0

---------- Post added at 10:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:34 PM ----------

*notchback 5.0 I don't think regular fox body's are all that lol

---------- Post added at 10:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------

Also I think ls1 gets better mpg than a 4.6 lol

My 99 Z28 puts down 436rwhp on motor or 588rwhp on a 150 shot and pulls down 26+mpg on the highway.
