Battery maintance question

Hey everyone! I know there's plenty of threads about storing our cars for the winter, but I have a specific question. I have not driven my car for about 3 1/2 weeks due to all the salt on the roads and I've noticed my battery voltage keeps dropping. I won't be able to drive it for awhile and I know it's not good to start it every once in a while and let it idle. My parents do not want me leaving a tender on the battery since we not home much. How should I keep the battery from dying? Maybe charge it once a month? I'm up for any ideas. Thanks for any input.

Why are your parents against a battery tendor? I think they are confusing it with a battery charger.

Battery tenders are small, completely safe, and are what you need to keep the battery at full charge while it sits for long periods of time.

Google "battery tendors", read up, then show your dad the links so he can read for himself. There is no danger with leaving a battery tendor connected to your battery. They have been used for autos, boats, lawn equipment, etc for years. They are safe!

I agree man, there's nothin wrong with tenders. I've done research so I'm gonna show my dad the sites and maybe he'll change his mind. There's tons of electronic stuff plugged in throughout the house, what's a simple tender! I hope he will change his mind
