Yeahh you can do that or do it yourself

Just simply check the vin number.

It should read 1FALP47V for a cobra coupe 4v

All mustangs have 1FALP in vin

Here's the decode

40-coupe v6
42-coupe gt
44-convertible v6
45-convertible gt
47-coupe cobra
46-convertible cobra

That's about the right price for that mileage, just make sure it is legit as was said. Most clones do not have the right hood AND bumper AND brakes AND motor AND booster AND airbag and all the other stuff. I could spot a 94/95 clone from accross a parking lot because NOBODY ever got the crabclaw wing correct with no brakelight in the decklid but the 96-98 cars used the same rear setup as the GT.

But definitely do the VIN check first and then all the typical Mustang stuff. If the VIN does not check out just walk away no matter how adament the guy is that its real. He may have been duped himself, would not be the first owner I've ran into who legit thought they had a real Cobra lol.
