X pipe

08 gt 500 with 590 rwhp and 600 ftlb. I'm currently running bbk off road x-pipe and flowmaster outlaw mufflers. Very loud and sounds mean as possible. I am switching to bbk catted x-pipe on sat and wanted to know if anyone had a similar set up and were you ok with emissions test. Me(if your state requires) My car is a full bolt on only leaving stock headers at this time. Pushing near 16 psi and correctly dyno tuned. Some feedback would be great. I do know about kooks cats but we are talking about over a grand for two cats. How much was the sound reduced with the catted pipe? Any help out there?

2011 Shelby
Live in N.J., an inspection state. Running Kooks 1 3/4 with catted X pipe.
My 02 sensors are turned off, wouldn't pass inspection with them on.
Most, if not all, high flow cats will throw codes. Have a set of Kooks " green " cats on order. I see no other way to get past the emissions test.
Can't comment on the sound level as I'm running the stock mufflers.
...................( not interested in noise, just hp. )

I was told by American muscle that they don't guarantee the bbk with cats to pass. They did suggest the green cats. With that x pipe and Flowmaster outlaws people hear me long b4 they ever see me. Very aggressive. I have every possible bolt on b4 I upgrade the supercharger and this cat thing is buggin me. I listened to a lot of you tube videos on the bbk catted pipe. It's not nearly as loud as catless. I will find out tomorrow when I put it on. I'll drive it to reset the codes. I have the sensors turned off right now through my bama tuner. I'll let you know soon.

What all did you do to get to that HP?

100 % bolt on. Intake, dyno tune , supercharger pulley, balancer pulley, secondary heat exchanger, off road bbk x-pipe, cobra jet throttle body, flowmaster outlaws, spark plugs, jlt 127mm carbon fiber cai and new high performance belt. A quality tune is a must.
I actually just finished installing a bbk catted x-pipe to push the noise down a bit. All parts from American muscle. All that's left is headers then supercharger upgrade. Runs like a beast. 600 on the torque puts you in the seat hard. I'm happy like this for a while. Sounds sick. Click image for larger version

Installation of catted pipe was easy. If I owned a lift it would be a 35 minute installation. It takes a good 40 minutes to SAFELY get the car up high to do the work. Did it at my buddies, he had a flat driveway to work. With the outlaw mufflers it's still pretty aggressive. Loud actually.

I have all the stock take off parts including wheels that I want to sell but by the rules listed it will take forever to post them all. If you are interested , I'm here.

I am in Ohio nod have emissions testing also. If I register it as a collector car by showing the build sheet etc to DMV I get a collector plate and I don't have any state inspections to pass. As for the exhaust when I get another year on mine and I am done with my 68 coupe rebuild I will head to Stainless Works and get an entire exhaust put on.
