Gears

Me and buddy were talking about gears. And he was saying for 4.10 gears in the rear you need to go tranny work as well. I've done a lot of googling on and can't really find the answer. So I figured id ask you guys

Why would your tranny need work? Gears are a torque multiplier only with power in the rear end. The power through the transmission just deals with the engine. Of course there is an issue of splines holding up under higher power but a gear swap won't do anything to it..

Everyone is Correct, your gears have nothing to do with the Trans. I have the 4.10s, Only thing I got done to the Trans, was get the Filter and Fluid changed, and that was only because I was in the shop for work to the car anyway.
