GT throttle body on V6

I've heard from different people that the V6 and GT share similar TBs. In that you can buy an aftermarket GT TB and install it on a V6. Is this true or are people just blowing smoke...?

Perhaps read some of the GT TNB threads, and see about the sizes if they make any differences.
Throttle body question?

If you could use the larger size, I would think BBK would sell it as well for the V6, but they dont:
BBK : 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Ford Mustang GT / Boss 302, Mustang 3.7L V6 Throttle Bodies & 2012 F Series Trucks

You need to get the engine to "demand" more air first, for a TB to do any good.

New TB aren't good. Ask Lund or Shean at AED.

Your stock TB can flow 500+ cfm. That's more than your little 227 inch motor needs @ 7000+. Why do you think your stock TB is inadequate?

My thought is that a larger TB is going to give problems at lower rpms.

CFM = CID x RPM x Volumetric efficiency / 3464. A typical built street motor can attain a 95% or more VE. Accufab has a list of TBs and flow rates to compare CFM.

I was looking around online pricing part and I remember BBK makes a TB for the V6 but its so expensive. Then I had guys telling that more companies make TBs for the GT and they could be interchangeable on the V6. Some companies actually sell them as "Fits 11-14 Boss, GT, V6". When I asked they couldn't remember.

I think I remember the thread I posted asking if anyone had installed one and most everyone said it didnt gain enough to justify the price.

Yea I have one on my v6 just cuz it was dirt cheap. I wouldnt and wont buy it for my 5.0 unless its dirt cheap aswell cuz some can cause more problems. Lund and Shaun at AED will tell you the issues that can arise from them.

So apparently it's been done now and a few of the guys have said they have noticed vast improvement in the power curve and smooth acceleration.

They had one made to work with a custom intake manifold. I haven't seen one on our stock manifold

14mustang was able to redrill a GT TB and fit it to a stock manifold. Says it's smoothed out a lot and the power seams to flow better. He is going to dyno soon so we will see.
