May be picking up a GT Today

Going to the dealer to hash out a price
trading my 06 v6 for an 06 GT , MAYBE
It seems to have some tastfull mods done to it , 1 owner , 80,000 miles
their asking $10,999 i like that price as most I see are still going for 12-16 and some have more miles
it all depends on what they give me for my trade in
wish me luck

just got her home , its Vita blue , black leather
needs some TLC but got a great deal
it has a JLT intake , BBK throttle body , hurst shifter , Pypes exhaust , painted mirror covers , chin spoiler , lowering springs and black FR500 wheels

complaints on the ride home ::: NEEDS struts and shocks ,REAL BAD
felt like an old Cadillac bouncing all over the place on harsh dips and bumps
and the previous owner took the spoiler off and put plugs over the holes , looks like ****
and the center door panels are coming off, the area were its porferated above and below the arm rest , like they need to be glued back on ??
anyone ever seen this ?? my v6 didnt have this issue

It's common. Usually JLT Intakes require a tune. Did it come with a tuner? If not and it's tuned that may become a problem. As far as the door pieces coming off just get some spray adhesive I believe and respray them and stick them back on. Someone may know more about the door panels than I tho

NO, No tuner
I'm going to pick one up anyway , because of coarse more mods are on the way : )

I've got my SCT tuner from my v6 witch I'm going to part ways with and pick up something newer

---------- Post added at 09:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 AM ----------

I also have to say I'm not a big fan of the factory hood scoop . it seems a little bulky out there in front

The door panels peeling off are super common on the 05-09's. It's SO tacky, an was like my pet peeve when I was looking for one. I would think you could glue it back one, but I've seen a lot of places just take it off, and let the grey sort of fiber material show, which again is super tacky. Dealers doing that makes me think it's not that easy to put it back on, or they would do it an charge an extra 500$ for the car (lol).

I thought the paint on the car looked a little strange , purple / blue ?
told it was vista blue ,but checked the paint code it turns out to be sonic blue
I thought that was a new edge color / 99/04 ?
ordered up some shocks and struts already !!

What shocks/struts did you order?

Sonic Blue was only available on 2005 S197's. I don't know what your "dealership" was on to get a mix up like that.

Under 11,000$ seems very reasonable. Good find! Hope you have fun with it!

finding a few more problems , the temp gauge and oil pressure gauge do not work
guess I'll be checking fusses etc , they sit together up and down in the gauge face so I'm sure its not a coinkidink their both not working , previous owner also seems to have installed a white face gauge overlay , wonder if he fu** something up ??

---------- Post added at 09:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 PM ----------

Tracked down the previous owner he told me he didn't get the needles back on correctly when doing the gauge overlay , and was to lazy to take it back apart to fix it , so the gauges are ok now i fixed them
also found out from him he had a brand new from Ford 5 speed and clutch installed around 3,000 miles ago !!!!

what would worry you ? the gauges , or trans ? kid seemed pretty honest , it appears he was the 2nd owner only had the car for 6,000 miles , trans went , and he had to put a new $190 tire on the front right so his parents made him trade it in on a (cough, cough) Cobalt
I mean its a Mustang , I don't expect it to be babied , I'm not going to baby it , engine sounds smooth and runs strong , I think the new trans & clutch is a plus +++
its better than having one with 80,000 + miles on it
and when I was under it it looked pretty damn new, the casting is all clean and shiny looking still , previous owner only used royal purple in the engine and theis kid did only 1 oil change and said he also used it
but now it has a AC Delco filter on it , and I'm sure what ever junk the dealer put in it for oil
so I'll be changing that shortly

---------- Post added at 07:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:28 PM ----------

and its still raining in N.J. SO NO pics yet , lol

Good to hear the Mustang runs like a bear. Since it a used car, you can modify it to your own taste. Have fun. Sounds like you got a good deal to me.

So is it a 2005 or 2006? Like I said in my last post Sonic Blue was only available on S197's in 2005. I see your signature says 2006
