Bama or Steeda Tune?

I would like input from those that have had both.

Both the Bama Performance and Steeda are solid options when looking into custom tunes. Both companies have been around for a long time and are truly leaders in the aftermarket Mustang tuning world. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Of course, we work closely with the Bama Performance Team too. If you have questions about our Bama custom tunes, I'd be happy to answer them. Or you can even call the number in my signature to talk to a Bama Tuning Specialist directly!

Good luck with your decision and let me know if I can be of any assistance!

I run Steeda and Bama tunes in my stang. Both provide great customer service and quality tunes. I dyno my car using my Steeda tune and Bama tune. Very similar results. Both pull hard and have firm shift points for us auto folks.

Steeda 289 rwhp and 274 rwtq.
Bama 294 rwhp and 268 rwtq.

This was based on each tune being 91 octane on my 2011 V6..

You can't go wrong with either company and both offer free tunes for life. I know that doesn't really answer your question but truth is, both companies are wonderful and do a great job. You won't be disappointed in either company.

I went with a Steeda CAI and a Bama tune on it, on top of MagnaFlow Axle-Backs and an X Pipe. Yowsa.

I was contemplating this same thing a month ago. I have a bunch of Steeda parts and it is a great company/product for sure. I called them to ask about a ghost tune. Turns out they only offer the ghost tune on 11-12 cars, not the 13/14s. This is the only reason I went with Bama instead. I will say that I am completely satisfied with it. I had it at LaMotta Performance in Orlando on the dyno and he said that it was a really good tune. I asked him if he would tweak it a bit, and he told me that it was pretty much perfect...nothing needed.
Had it on a month and 4k miles now, and love it.
Good luck.

There are a small pocket of haters and anti bama or any email tunes. Take their stories of destruction with a grain of salt. Companies like Bama, Steeda, MPT, Lund etc, do an exceptional job. I have been running bama tunes for over 3 years and absolutely love them. They provide excellent customer service and good solid advice. I run a Steeda tune and very happy with them as well. They also provide great customer service.

Both are great options ... do your searches & let me know if I can provide any feedback?

You can reach me at tim@steeda.com.

Love my steeda tune. Unfortunately I can't compare the two for you as I've only had Steeda, with no plans on switching.

Got my Steeda CAI and tune installed. What an improvement, I'm loving the tune!!! Now my mustang feels like what I had expected when I bought it...a powerful beast. Didn't realize how much the stock tune sucks, damn. Sure wish I didn't wait so long to get a tune!

Funny how a tune changes the whole car. Makes the factory tune and shift points look like a joke and sloppy.

Sloppy joke is a great way to put it when describing the stock tune.

I run a Steeda tune as well and real happy with it. Huge difference over factory tune and shift points. TJ, has Steeda heard any rumors from Ford about the 2015 mustang having its ECU locked down so aftermarket tuning will be very difficult. TJ, being that Steeda has a very close working relationship with Ford is there any truth to that rumor?

Hey TJ,

Thanks for your help! I went with the 93 Street tune. Next step is getting those 3.55's out of my garage and installed! Unfortunately, gotta wait until spring for that.

Thanks again,
Demetrios

Kona,

It is too early in the product life cycle to know what is fact or fiction.

Why did you need two changes in one month?

I'll second that, why did you call for changes? Also, whats your experience with other tuners? Who else have you used?

9 days, this post was left alone in the 11-14 GT forum......within hours of something not looking positive for steeda or bama and it gets neatly tucked away where few people come across it.....TN strikes again
LOL

Bama and Steeda are both great companies who give great, safe tunes. Neither are going to push limits of the engine where it causes failure. I've been running bama tunes for over 3 years and zero issues. I also been running Steeda and zero issues.

Absolutely not true. We can't possibly see every post on the day it gets posted which means we move them when we come across them. Has nothing to do with Bama or Steeda. Please stop trying to stir the pot with off topic posts about moderation,It throws the thread off topic and creates more work for mods to clean up. If you have a issue please feel free to send me a PM so we can talk more.

Thanks for understanding.

Just to cover the questions... I've used a diablo predator tuner which worked ok but the sct/bama is better. And I had to get another tune sent due to the serial # on my tuner not matching the sticker(bought from private person not AM) and then to inform them of mods I had not realized were on my car as it was bought used with 4k miles on it and no obvious visible mods..... Btw, tune STILL running great with no complaints.....

I have Bama and Steeda's tunes. Bama's was amazing on my V6, but for my new GT I wanted something safe. Bama does have it's haters and controversy every now and then, but I hadn't heard any negative feedback from Steeda's tunes though. Steeda also boasted safety and reliability so that's why I chose Steeda in this particular case.
