Question Exhaust Questions

So Im looking for a good exhaust setup for my 2011 5.0 and before i purchase one I had some questions.

1. Does an xpipe make the exhaust louder and/or add hp?
2. What catback can I buy that would give me the loudest and best sounding sound?
3. Can I put an xpipe on aby catback or do I have to buy a catback with an Xpipe on it already?
4. Whats a good set up I can use for a LOUD sound and some hp gains

1. Yes
2. Borla s catback
3. If its a catback, it has either a h or x pipe included
4. Catbacks only give maybe 5 to 10 hp. But the sound is worth it

Exhaust Questions

Mine had the magna flow cat back installed. Sounds amazing! Loud and throaty, almost like a nascar at WOT. A little drone on the highway but I like it.

Muffler delete. Factory h pipe and stainless steel piping in place of the factory mufflers and then get factory tips welded on

I've got Borla ATAKs and i LOVE them. super loud though. look into getting long tubes too if you really want to be obnaxious and loud.

X-pipe vs. h-pipe: x-pipes sound raspier, h-pipes sound more muscular. Very minuscule gains (I've heard 5+ hp from x-pipe).

The rest of the cat-back system won't really flow any better than stock (already flows well, unless you're doing high-performance racing etc.). You'll just be able to 'delete' your factory resonators with a new set of OTA pipes.

Just buy direct-replacement parts. Buy an x/h-pipe that directly replaces the factory one and the cat-back system should fit fine (as they're designed to bolt up to the factory mid-pipe).

I like Borla the most for exhaust. I don't think there's just one best 'beats all' setup out there.

Yes. For example, you can get the Borla S-type (Stinger) catback and the Lethal Performance catless h-pipe and they'll work together because they are both designed to mate up with the factory pipes.
