2012 or 2013 GT? Which to buy?

So I'm looking into buying a new pony and I can't quite decide whether to get a 2012 or a 2013 GT. I know there are some small differences such as looks and just barely more hp but is there really much of a difference? They are around the same in price with the 2013 just being a small bit more obviously because it's newer. I plan on putting a supercharger in it with a tune and probably a new exhaust and new tires eventually as well. Any recommendations or opinions? Thanks

Get the '13. I got a new '14 in sept. The tail lights look better in '13 vs the '12

The 11 and 12's also have oil squirters in each cylinder that they removed in 13. Something about a small number of cars having issues with them. Personally, I think the 13 is the best looking non svt Mustang ever made, including the 14

Agreed, go with the 13-14 body style.

I prefer the 11-12 than the 13-14. Agreed, the air extractors look good and function well, but I don't like the front ends, myself. I like the rears better than the 11-12s, BUT I like dislike those front ends so much. To me, there is very little character over the v6- it still has the Mazda smile.

Plus, the 11-12s are easier to modify. At first I didn't like that ABS trim on it, but it's nice to be able to adjust how you want (side splitters, rear diffuser), while the 13-14 takes more work and has less options.

Edit: I was stuck choosing between a new 12 or new 13, whatever options I wanted. As much as I love the Gunmetal on the 13s, the whole look of the 12s (and extra $500) was clear for me to get the 12.

+1 on the 13'. I bought a 14' and absolutely love the look. I am not to fond of the OEM spoiler but will be replacing it with a 3d gt500 soon.

I'm still in the same predicament and I just bought my '14 a month ago. I love the rear of the 13-14 but love the front of the 11-12. The 11-12 seem to have more options in the aftermarket as far as the body is concerned. The 13-14 front looks better when you get rid of the factory grille and fog lights IMO.

But despite all of those factors, I still catch myself staring at my car. I'll pull into work and look back at it about a dozen times in the 30-40 yard walk to the door. You can't really go wrong with either.

I have that 3D Carbon GT500 spoiler on my 2013 GHIG, ordered from someone else besides AM and had problems with painter at 3D, sent me a 2nd one but I am still not happy with it, too much dirt in the paint that wont buff out

This is a hard choice. Both years have their own up's and down's. If it were me, I think I'd go with the 2013 though. Especially if it has the track apps in the dash. It looks super clean and if you're like me, you'll be using it all the time.

Good luck with your decision!

I apologize for my confusion. With your impassioned " Doesn't anyone read anymore" statement I assumed you had the ability to impact the change you desire by helping coach people on the various forum rules and standards in a mature and positive manner.

I recently went through the same thing - but with a 6 cylinder. I chose the 13 because I like the front and rear ends better. There is also the Mycolor system and the Track Apps on the dash.

If someone is not smart enough to realize this sort of thing isn't tech they don't deserve mature or positive correction.

Also he could just google pics of both years and an itemized list of all the changes from multiple websites and make the decision of what HE thinks is better.

I hate to jump in, but if you get it...why post in the wrong section? I believe his response was mature, albeit not helpful to the extent you required. He most likely assumed that with a post count of a staggering 380, that you would know your way around the forum, including but not limited to:

-understanding the content of your post and which subsection it belongs in
-realizing that moderators have "STAFF" under their username and are the only people that can move threads
-believing that in the top left corner, above the link to your CP, is a sectioned link including the yellow-brick road from the homepage of ME all the way to this thread
-revealing to yourself that patronizing your elder members will not get you the respect you desperately crave
-and so on and so forth.

I hope this post helps any further confusion as you continue on your quest to become a Pokemon master, oh great one.

The whole point is that he doesn't have the word staff and therefore should just let them do their job. I didn't post anything in the wrong section. Im not the op with the question. Did you read the whole thread

If you're referring to me then no I'm not part of the staff. However I've been asked by them to point these things out. There are things that go on behind closed doors that not everyone is privy of.
