Racing the S550.

With the new mustang coming soon a lot of us old body styles are falling behind in speed department. I'm looking to see what mods you guys think are needed to keep a 99-04 GT competitive with the new gen.

I think the 99-04 gt's will still beat the majority of mainstream cars. I mean, I have seen a 02 mustang beat a 11 challenger hehehe. I doubt you'll be able to hang with a 15+ though no matter what - unless you do something drastic.

The only way I could see that without getting crazy (well, crazier) would be to s/c it.

Cheapest way would be full boltons and a 150 shot. Should be around 400whp maybe more and with suspension mods and wider tires. It should cost about $4,500 not including install. That will give you enough to beat the new 15' GT in stock form. And walk the over weight Camaro's and Challenger's.

That's because of the weight difference between a Mustang and a Challenger. The S550 is going to be near the same weight as the NE. With MUCH more power.

Yeah, It's pretty sad on dodge's part. Also, I don't like the S550's style, but I can't logically deny how powerful and fast that thing is going to be. It will be amazing performance wise.
